Gomis has been offered to us apparently so it's not us being interested in him which is a bit of a relief

I know that we have looked at him again, but no formal bids or enquiries have been made despite what the press are reporting.
Lacazette - It's quiet on that front. He doesn't want to leave Lyon in this window.
Bas Dost - No offer made to Wolfsburg and unlikely to be one. We are after a striker with pace who can play off Mitrovic.
Berahino - We appear to be focusing our efforts on him. There is a lot of potential there and he is seen as a perfect foil for Mitrovic. There are concerns over his attitude, but the club think they can overcome that.

There's not many around in January who'll guarantee you goals.

Gabriel from Santos, might cost you £20m but you could be looking at 4 times that in a few years if his progression goes the way pundits expect it to.

You can't win the prize if you don't buy a ticket.

    Gabriel is a FM Legend!

Can pick him up for 6 or 7 mil on the game, as soon as Nufc start sniffing around his agent will be on the phone to every top club in europe telling them so the competition heats up as quickly as his fee!

No doubt he will go to Barca/Madrid/athletico

Probably won't be going to either of those any time soon.

Not sure about FM, I've not played it since about 2011 or something... 98 was the best, when it was Champ Manager!

Barca seems the obvious one, but they have Neymar, Suarez, Messi and their own wonderkid El Haddadi.

I agree he'll probably go to a big club eventually, but a lot of the Brazilian kids go to Eastern Europe first quite often, to clubs that can't even compete with PL fees and wages. I think it might be something to do with work permits being easier to get in those countries.

Could end up **** as well mind.

Im quite into FM and there's a spout of attacking brazillian youngsters coming through at the moment. I think countries like Ukraine and Russia are easier to get work permits im not sure if its their FA's or whether they are just corrupt and allow anything for the right fee.

Gabriel Barbosa got 21 goals in 2014 season and then again 21 goals in the 2015 season. His currently 19 and has over 40 odd goals. I'm sure he will move in the summer, but their season is about to start. The BuyOut clause of 50 Million Euros probably puts a few teams off but an agreement could probably be made.

Is that what it is 50m? Jesus.

Maybe a little over your heads then.

Can't see many teams taking a 50m risk on the kid just yet, maybe Barca like you say, when Neymar leaves.

Release clauses in Brazil are rarely exploited. There's traditionally not a lot of cash, so you'll find the selling club will snap your hand off for a lot less. He'll go for around the £8m mark to someone like Shakhtar. One things for certain - he ain't coming here.

Daily Fail regurgitating the Berahino story.

Just so everyone is aware - Shola has today been released by Bolton due to their financial problems. He could do a job vs the mackems #justsaying

I'm not as excited about this guy as most of you seem to be.

He's quick but we need another target-man, someone who can hold the ball up.

If Mitrovic gets injured then we're in trouble.

Charlie Austin would have been perfect but he preferred Southampton! <doh>

Apologies for repetition, but Bony is perfect though probably unavailable.

...just think that Lacazette is more a winger/attacker rather than a target-man/striker.

    Too small! 175cm about 5ft 9"

I think we have got to get a bit more creative with our scouting. As mentioned if you look across europe who is there that is obviously going to score us goals that we could realistically get? The choice is minimal. Perhaps there is someone decent out there in less obvious leagues.

South America!!! They produce great technical strikers! There is a lot of untapped talent out there although some over inflated prices and buy out clauses but if you look at the strikers to grace the EPL the majority are resounding successes.

Football Manager recommendation :emoticon-0136-giggl - Carlos Fierro, 21 year old striker/winger with a good work rate and great technique, hasn't hit the heights I was expecting of him yet out in Mexico but no doubt he will be in Europe in the next 3-5 years

If we are going down the FM route then these players have massive futures ahead of them and could be picked up for very little

Balanta - Columbian CB, has the talent to be one of the best CB's in the world
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - CM Bayern Munich - He is going nowhere, will be a top top player
Malcolm - Brazillian Winger/striker - 18 years old, very technically gifted
Andres Cubas - Boca Juniors - DMC - Pure class - We should buy him right now!
Thiago Maia - DMC - Brazilian - Santos - Again should go all the way to the top
Lincoln - 16 years old - Gremio - AMl/AMC - sign him now, he has the potential to be in the Ronaldo.Messi.Neymar Bracket
Emanuel Mammana - Argentinian - DC at River plate - Buying him and Balanta would be ensuring we had the best two CB's for the next 15 years! Could easily form a fantastic partnership

Mbemba is also an FM wonderkid, but we already have him1

Ive just named 7 players who have more potential than any player Carr could ever recomend even if he scouted for another 50 years. These are the types of players Porto, Athletico will go after, have for a few years and then make mega bucks selling them on. We should get on that gravy train!

Well I have been Championing the case of Balenta for ages. Not just because FM (on which he is awesome) but mainly because if anyone has watched any argentine football or south american CL, this guy has been superb under Gallardo (who I'd like as our manager). Both him and the manager will probably be Barcelona bound at some stage though.

On subject of FM, Luka Jovic as a foil for Mitro would be unbelievable.

You know your FM prospects! Lincoln will be at a team aiming for CL titles in a few years. Probably one of Spain's top 2/3 teams or Portugal where a lot of young Brazilians end up.

I have all of the mentioned players at Nufc on my FM 16, the value of my 23 man 1st team squad is £473.4M despite spending 149m on players and selling 79M worth of players. My FM stats are so good i put them on my CV lol

Honestly Mike just just bin off Carr and have a once a month Not606 NUFC board meeting. We would have it all sorted by the end of the summer. Champions league qualification & £300 million increase in the value of playing staff the following season. Done.

    My fm16 team is awesome!

So many wonderkids to sign. To add to the Brazilians mention above Matheus perriera (from Corinthians)

    Barbosa is top shout.

Ajer from Denmark is quality as well.

Lucas Romero from velez, can get him for a mil or two in first window.
