German international striker Max Kruse has been approached by Newcastle United according to media reports.

The 26 year old Borussia Monchengladbach forward appeared in World Cup qualifiers but didn’t make the Brazil squad, though he is now back in favour and featured in three European Championship qualifiers thanks to his Bundesliga form.

Never a prolific scorer, the most Kruse has scored in a top division league season is the twelve he got in the last campaign.

Bought from Freiburg for only £2m eighteen months ago, The Mirror report that Monchengladbach would be prepared to sell Max Kruse if a bid of around £9m came in.

The reports further claim that the striker has been watched by Newcastle scouts and Alan Pardew is keen, though you would guess that if United are serious about recruiting a forward in the transfer window, they will have a number of them in mind and the price tag will be a major factor.

Its in a few unreliable sources but they seem to be building up!
