She didn't give any reason, also she did it relatively subtley. They were talking about education, I can't remember the exact question and someone (may have been Vince Cable) said something on the lines of "blah blah blah but then we'd have to close private schools but no-one is saying that" then this feminist bitch quips in "I am". I was stunned someone would seriously lend their support to closing down Britian's private schools.

Because the existence of a private sector in education serves the same purpose as the private sector in healthcare: it lowers expectations for what is the only option for the vast majority of people. On top of that, private education serves as a fast track to the top jobs in industry and the civil service based not on ability but on the fees paid. Similar logic to private healthcare really. So yes, I would abolish all private schools, same as I would abolish all private healthcare. That way, the elite in this country, who would then be forced to use the same health and education services as the rest of us, would actually care about standards in those services for the first time ever, and they might just improve.

I'm a bit disappointed because the first 8 or 9 rounds were really good, I should have scored a lot higher than this.

Tut tut, I'm very disappointed in you Lapras, I thought you were a great advocate of women's rights, with your constant posting about woman's football....It seems that I was mistaken....I'm with Chilco, private education and healthcare leads to elitism and a fast track to better jobs and services based on the ability to pay to the detriment of the vast majority of society.

Realistically even if there wasn't a private education sector, there isn't enough money in the treasury to suddenly raise the entire state sector to the level of the private sector. I think if you have the money, you should be able to pay a bit more in return for a better service.... There's nothing wrong with that rather than having a 'one size fits all' approach. It's like paying a bit more to get better seats at Saint Mary's or whatever. The issue is not getting rid of the 'top tier' but instead raising the 'bottom tier'.

It's like sets for example. Say 90% of people may not be academic enough to get in the top set. Should we therefore get rid of set classes and only have one set for every subject? That would be utterly stupid. People who are more academic should have the opportunity for greater academic challenges, likewise those who are able to afford it should have the opportunity to pay extra to get extra in return.

Not every private school is Eton or one of those posh ones.

I am! I have nothing against feminists, except for when they say stupid comments like that. Though I would criticise anyone of any gender or political standing for that.

It's pretty addictive. I find it very satisfying hitting those square lantern things, but very annoying firing at the ones that go in and out of the water. One thing that always annoys me with these sites, though, is the box that keeps popping up asking you to submit your score. It's things like that which interrupt the flow of the game and deter me from playing. I just want to be able to click retry as soon as I fail, damn it.

The fan ones annoyed me the most. Impressive graphics though. I remember we played games on Miniclip while at school. Can't remember what they were though.

Got to about 90k-ish then my computer crashed. #sob

I am local comp educated and I don't have private Healthcare (despite it being offered by my company), however I disagree with you. Just because the choice is not there for everyone, doesn't mean there shouldn't be a choice. I do not have lower expectations of my kids who are being state educated. I consider myself fairly driven and will work hard to achieve what I need to achieve; I don't think where I was educated matters and I believe that having options is always a good thing. I am the son of a milkman, but I have never shown green eyes on those more wealthy than us or educated differently.

Too many people believe that things aren't fair or believe that everything should be about an even playing field.

You articulated it far better than I did. Clearly my private education paid off!

    Cheers. McInnes or Caitlin?
