People with popular Youtube channels can make full time careers out of it. I'm talking several hundred thousand views a week, but there are quite a few living comfortably off it without doing another job.
Yeah I watch a lot of YouTube stuff, mind-bending how much money they can make, 'comfortably' is an understatement for the ones at the top of it and there's a few different instances where a few friends have started channels that have grown into companies employing upwards of a 100 people. And most prominently recently a company started by a few people who make daily video diaries and little comedy skits and the like who gradually brought more and more channels under their wing was sold to Disney for around $500 million.
