Should we sell Kranjcar?

  1. Keep him

  2. Sell him

We'd still have Bale's pace on the break to add to Lennon's NSSS, plus you'd hope that whoever we get to lead the line would have a bit, too.

If we had Modric, van der Vaart and Kranjcar on the pitch to add to those players, then we might not have a lot of breaking to do, either! <laugh>

I knew you'd say Bale <ok>, again I'm not sure its the best tactic for Bale to have to use his pace at every opportunity from the FB position. Even if he doesn't get the ball, someone needs to make the run to give the option, that just can't be Bale's job from FB. Width keeps defences stretched, I've seen enough of not being able to break teams down through the middle when they narrow up at the back. We need more pacy cover for Lennon and Bale imo, Niko, Bentley, and Pienaar don't provide that.

"then we might not have a lot of breaking to do, either!" ...I would...wind! <laugh>

I think that we'd still have plenty of width, with Lennon, Modric, van der Vaart, Kranjcar and Bale in the side.

We will need suitable cover for Lennon, but I'm not sure if we should go with someone similar to him, just because I'd like some variety from the bench and I'm not sure what would complement Walker.

Taking Bale and/or Lennon out of that list leaves paceless width for me that doesn't last long, with the tendency to cut inside. 3 of that type is too many imo, 4 if you include Pienaar, and Niko comes 3rd in that small list. I just think we're light in the pace department up front and in MF, the rest aren't just slow, its painfully slow. Other squads have more than 3 quick players.

You do realise using Walker would freeze out Corluka and upset Modders! <laugh>

I know you were joking, but I wasn't suggesting that Walker should start, but I expect him to provide competition for Corluka and play in the cups quite often, assuming that we progress.

I'd agree that the pace might be a problem with our current strikers, but I have no idea how many of them will actually still be with us when the season starts.
Not many, by the looks of things.
