It's purely off the back of that picture though(hense why the media are actively using the picture to support their claims). It could have been taken anytime and anywhere in reality. Rumours are Kone's agent sent it to the papers with the cover story he's in a Liverpool hotel. To me, it's still a case of his agent trying to land him a better deal. Where? He won't care, but I'd bet one of my bollocks(good job it could never be proven beyond the theory) he'll be quite happy for him to stay at Sunderland if he lands him and his client a wage hike for Kone and a nice lump some for the agent himself. I mean his agent is Willie McKay. An agent who knows and uses every trick in the book to get his clients the best deal available. With that in mind. If we offer Kone the best deal I'm certain he'll go nowhere.
So Everton get 50million for stones and looks like getting kone and Williams for 30 million combined that's fukkin brilliant tekkers from them still 20 mullion left. We will bid 10 for that Kiev cb can't remember his name so 18 million for kone will cover him and papy no net spend Ellis will be happy
All I know is that if we start the season having sold Kone I'm going to be ****ing pissed off with the club and life in general. Even more so if it transpires that we never bothered to offer him a wage increase to try and keep him. I don't give a **** about replacements I want Kone and Kaboul to be our CB pairing.
Sod £17m or £25, if they want him they can pay more than they've got for Stones who lets be honest is absolutely Barry White!
Sunderland AFC News And Banter Page 1 hr · SKY SPORTS: Everton Agree £12million deal with Swansea for Ashley Williams Hope this puts an end to the Kone interest. Can't see Williams and Kone pushing their captain, Jagielka, to the bench.....could it ?
He's always late to the party isn't he. Perhaps somebody should advise him that it isn't fashionable to turn up late when it comes to football
where they understand the situation is? i.e. they really don't know. no smoke without fire and all that, but sounds like more made up journo ****e going on.
As disapointing as it will be to see kone leave my real beef here is that we should be holding out for a great transfer fee. I would say the 17 or 18 miilion being mentioned is no more than ok for us and probably a good deal for Everton in the current market, if we can get 25 million for him thats a good deal for us as long as we can find a good replacement. We need to be stepping up a gear in terms of recruitment whether kone stays or goes though, season starts in a few days and still no rb, no m'vila and only defoe up front. Unless something special happens with our recruitment in the next few weeks this window will have been a disaster
I dont get in. Even in todays market 12m profit for a few months is superb from a business point of view.
