People talking about Lineker and Hughes playing makes me feel young as hell.

You are young. Don't forget to enjoy it because it's a temporary condition. And don't listen to all that bollocks about life beginning at 40 or whatever. Your 20s are the best years so work hard and play hard cos later on you won't be able to.

That's true that it's best to live life to the full in your 20's, but life begins whenever you just bloody well decide it does. I find that what really hits me more than anything these days is events or circumstances that only appear to have happened a couple of years ago are actually 3, 4 or more times longer ago than I recollected.

The most recent incidence of that was while watching an episode of Star Trek Enterprise and suddenly realising that, when it was first broadcast, Saints had just gone 4th in PL and had beaten Tottenham 4-0 in the FA Cup, with WGS managing the squad. The Lowe era was in full swing. :)

That 4-0 win vs spurs was only a couple of years ago wasn't it?

I remember that day. I had been in the local pub all day playing pool (I played Premier League pool back then) and was in the period I wasn't interested in football anymore. Was very drunk when the game started then another top pool player (Spurs fan) I know walked in.

I could have got my head knocked off properly that day because in the words of the Fast show 'I was very very drunk'. I guess that must have been about 2003. Still didn't watch any other premier league football that year. Was a drunken one off that got round my Premier League sky money apathy.

Just ploughed through this thread. Looked at from this end of three straight wins it looks really... well... plain weird.

There's folk chatting about seeing Ron Davies hit four v utd, I'm not sure the world was in colour then. I think that's one of the reasons of what makes the forum the best on here, is the wide range of ages. Along with Saints being a great club to chat about.

I noticed Adam Blackmore mention Ron Davies as a legendary Saints CF, putting 4 past ManU at OT, to Ronald on Saturday in his post match interview. I was dying for Ronald to say something back as to some sort of recognition, but how would he know? He would have been a pip-squeak toddler at the time of Ron's era, and fame didn't travel anywhere near as easily as it does these days.

Never mind. Always good to be reminded. Incidentally, as the media have been going on about the last time we had back to back wins at OT people might wonder about the lesser known result from the previous season. It was 2-1, with Ron Davies and Frank Saul scoring for Saints.

Like the Austin reference in the Gif.
