Have you got Modbro? Brilliant app.

My Samsung phone links wirelessly to a Panasonic plasma TV. Wish I had known about these things before I did.
As an old fogey the technology of these things is mind blowing. I remember when you had to go through the operator to ring such far flung places as York.

I do mate, I have the Showbox app too ........... all bases covered as they say :emoticon-0148-yes:

Pretty much that - it'll go on your computer, a laptop, Firestick, Firebox, a non-Apple tablet even; I have mine on a Samsung Tab4, as I have a Samsung TV they link together without any problem, my tablet screen gives a mirror image on the TV screen. If you check this link out it'll explain what it is and how it works ....... drop me a PM if you need any more info.

I'd hazard a guess that a decent Broadband connection is ESSENTIAL?
If so, no good for me as my bandspeed is 700-800kbs, or, on a good day 1Mbs

You do for Kodi and Mobdro etc - they're just straight streaming i.e. the quicker your broadband the better it is, although, they do say you only need 0.5mbits to stream Netflix. I read somewhere that the ideal is between 2 & 3 mbits to stream good quality content.

My son manages with about 2mbps. Kodi buffers bit on that. Modbro isn't a problem.
Those speeds are lousy, aren't they? I get 20-30mbps and think it should be faster.<laugh>

If you have an Android device download Modbro, unlike Kodi it doesn't take any setting up, and give it a go. Though it isn't a good idea to use it a lot unless you have an Internet deal with a high or unlimited download level as it does use a lot. Just watching a film on Showbox, another one to try that doesn't need any setting up, in full HD on a 42" screen. These young ins don't know how lucky they are compared to us oldies who had 2 channels up to being teenagers.

My internet isn't unlimited (I think it's the option below that), so is there a risk of going over and getting charged more by Karoo?

I know when Netflix first came in, three-four people I know were charged £200-300 quit by Karoo for going over watching a few films/TV series.

Yes, there is. Worth going to unlimited for what you can watch for the relatively small increase in cost. Especially if it lets you cancel any services you are paying for.

I've got unlimited download, CC, but I'm about 3 cottages from the end of a copper line. It's about 3 miles from sub-exchange and that's 5 miles from the main one in town. I've received an offer for satellite broadband (c.2Mbps), but it requires a dish and the estate-owner isn't keen on even attaching an intruder light.

I may just be fooked...

Daft, isn't it? Live for 50 years without things like the Internet and now want ever faster First broadband I had from BT 15 years ago was £24 for download speeds of 56kbps and a download limit of 20gbs. Now I pay SKY £7.50 a month and get speeds of 20-30mbps with unlimited downloads. If only things like beer increased with lower prices at the same rate.
Worth downloading Modbro and giving it a go as it is only a 2 minute job so if it doesn't work it has cost you much in time and effort.

Mine is slow, Netflix is good and to a lesser extent Amazon, Now TV drops out a lot. My friend relies on Kodi for sports and he reckons sites get shut down all the time so there can be a certain amount of faffing around but he can usually find a stream when he wants to watch a match even if its in Urdu or Welsh. My problem with watching films and TV online is often the quality isn't up to scratch but in years gone by I would download films and hope for the best based on comments at Kat or wherever

Yeah - I can't stream films/etc as it buffers all the time. So I download and then watch later.
For City games, etc - I sometimes get lucky on FirstRow.

KC currently have an offer on the unlimited broadband. £36 a month for 12 months. Offer is on til 31st March. They haven't advertised it though. I only found out when I rang to upgrade my package after getting kodi on the fire stick. Give them a ring

I get unlimited from SKY for £7.50 a month, plus line rental.

I'd kill to get Sky broadband instead of bloody KC, when I get talking to Sky engineers they are always telling me how frustrated they are that they can't fit it round here even though they are trained to do so

That's decent considering its £50 a month currently for unlimited.
