Hi 55. Is it resource-heavy? Lower spec PCs and laptops might struggle if it is. I use Maiz Box, the Swansea based android box for my TV and it's really good but never looked into Kodi. Might be worth taking a look.

Edit - i think it used to be known as XBMC which I'm pretty sure is the system used by Maiz Box.

Yes it's the old XBMC.

Been using my raspberry box with Kodi for a couple of months now, really impressed with the choice of movies and tv shows, the sports are a little hit and miss though

I wish I knew what you were all talking about it is all double dutch to me, Just about worked out how to use my mobile and get on here. Technology and me don't mix, wish it did I am surely missing out on something's.

I'm ok with technology but this stuff is way over my head <laugh>

Installed Kodi on my laptop last night. If you've not got it get it guys.Kodi is the system on the android box.Looks good on my laptop. Now I can relax in bed and watch the sport, films, whatever.

Just giving myself a pat on the back :emoticon-0137-clapp

Is the quality better than the streaming sites for games etc?

My mate just had Kodi box for his tv but had to get guy he got it off back twice to sort codes for it to work !
I want it when contract runs out with virgin soon xl tv etc £60 month be dropped to £20 - £25 with deals my mate did with them for phone, net and basic tv so a good saving if the Kodi box keeps working with not much hassle.

I spent a bit more and got a raspberry box instead of android one, the reason was my last android packed up. Kodi works fine on it with no problems. But bare in mind that this is not a sky / virgin box so you do encounter niggles that takes a little research at times

I"M going to get open box, after having a demo from my neighbour, he gets all the sky sports channels as well as BT, not to mention the the Sky Movie channels plus all the Planet earth channels like National Geographic etc, was well impressed.

You can get the 'Open Box' on Ebay for £39.00 or £69.00 on Amazon.......... <cheers>

PS: kiss my butt Sky....... <laugh>

Do you get history and H2 channels that`s what i mainly watch when i can be arsed to put the box on, plus do you get disney and all the kids progs ?

I use Genesis and a couple of other apps on there, between them all you get a fair amount of programmes. It's not one for live TV as I haven't figured how to work that out. They are all on demand so you look for the programmes with a search and if there you can watch them when you like. You can try it out on a PC before you buy a box for free, search Kodi and then add Genesis

I just use AceStream on my PC for TV, and torrent movies over to my WD Live. I did like the look of the XBMC thing though, much prettier than WDL.

SportsDevil is supposed to be excellent. Haven't tried that yet but my mate swears by it.

My son recommends an add-on app called Navi-X - he reckons it's really good.
