I'd say Fury has at least 4 names on his resume that are better than anyone Joshua has beaten.

It is, if you look at the 70s or the 90s, there are heavyweights that never won a belt, maybe not even in the top 10 at the time, that would be a top 5 heavy now.

Joshua is essentially Frank Bruno, who although a very good heavyweight, was nowhere near the best at the time.

I hope Joshua does well l really do, but it's hard to take when he's essentially fought scrubs his whole career, and has the Eddie Hearn hype machine behind him claiming he is the new Ali.

    I did
    Good undercard
Good finishing regardless of how good, or not, Martin was
Always get big fights though as the whole extended family are boxing fans so we always get together at someone's house for them

    Me too
Although last night it crashed early in programme! One call to Sky resolved it though
I wouldn't rely on a stream when I had so many round to watch it

Well he has had 10 more fights, we'll see where AJ is in 10 fights time.

Compare their records and achievements after 16 fights and AJ is head and shoulders above Fury.

<laugh> AJ beat a chump last night who was clearly not a very good boxer. Martin may have had an unbeaten record, but that record is undoubtedly against very low quality opposition, as he was garbage.

And Fury was still fighting for Irish and British titles at this point in his career, imagine all the world class boxers he was beating to win those.

If Fury had had the AJ hype train he could have knocked out Charles Martin in his 16th fight. But he didn't.

I don't dislike the guy and think he is a prospect, but he's no Tyson or Lewis. He isn't even Bruno or wlad Klitscho yet - which is fine - but let's not pretend he's an unstoppable monster.

boxing training is first and formost about being able to deal with someone who is the same weight (approx. within a few pounds) as this is who you will be fighting in your weight division that's why the general training is freeletics, as this is using your own bodyweight to strengthen and condition and you get used to dealing with that weight and resistance. With the heavyweights (I am one) the weight you can fight at has no limits unlike every other weight division so additional strength through other exercises could give you an advantage.

Let me put it this way, Joshua has done nothing to get a title shot. He's essentially had the same career as Dillan Whyte, but Whyte was no near the top 10 in the rankings and Joshua is already a contender? Hearns money = Joshua's success

I agree. But you need to balance it properly with still being able to move your joints about properly.

I think it might have something to do with AJ being 10x the boxer Whyte is.

No he isn't. Whyte went into that with a ****ed up shoulder and still managed to put AJ on Queer Street in the 2nd round. AJs legs resembled that of a chicken.

An uninjured Whyte could have knocked him out.

very true. I am a small heavyweight 6ft2 15st 3lb and aged 50 so I don't think I will be challenging for world titles this year so speed (very quick for my age which surprises spar partners) and a bloody good punch are my advantage. I am not over built so it doesn't restrict my movement, which could effect Josuha if he continues to build muscle as he does. Fury is the right size/weight for this division and is a good boxer, not be be underestimated

Do you not think AJ has earn't some of the hype by winning Olympic gold?

Surely there's more interest when the worlds best amateur turns pro rather than some unproven chubby bloke.

Is that in gyms across hull?

I had him losing 3 times when he was gifted the gold medal.

He lost against Savon, he lost against Dychko and he lost against Cammarelle.

He's been given a lot of things in his short career because he looks the part.

He's the equivalent to a Simon Cowell boy band.

    :emoticon-0102-bigsm Absolute bollocks.

I suppose David Haye would have knocked Klitscho out as well if he didn't have poorly toe.

I don't know what AJ has done to annoy you but your dislike for him is starting to make you sound like you know nothing about boxing (which I don't believe to be true).

The fact you think you know better than professional judges and that he's had the world handed to him because he has big muscles is just ridiculous. You're right to question his credentials as a top heavy weight because he's still unproven to an extent but some of your points are just idiotic.
