I think he's sadly out of his depth

When fans “boo” it tends to be borne out of anger and frustration. When they chant “you don’t know what you’re doing” it is pure derision and that is a multitude worse.

Last night that chant - the loudest of the evening - echoed around three sides of the Cottage at the end of the game. It was aimed directly at Kit. Previously most fans had been content with the risible observation that they couldn’t understand “why can’t he see what we can?”. However when Kit replaced McCormack in the last few minutes of extra time that was the proverbial straw which broke the backs, minds and every heartfelt sentiment they had for him.

This outpouring, the most scornful possible, leaves him nowhere to go .. except out!

I'm afraid you're right C58. I don't understand why he can't see it. His main argument is its not his squad but that's not true really. He could have done much more but his inexperience had let him down in the end. When he took over it went well but it's all gone wrong slowly and gradually. Shame as he is Fulham through and through.

I'm fairly sure if we kept Felix for a whole season we'd certainly have gotten relegated. I also think if we had Kit from the start we'd be relegated. Our only good run of form came directly after Kit took over from Felix and I remember saying just before we sacked Felix that merely getting rid of him would give the players a massive lift. I think that contributed to our success at the time rather than Kit's good work. I reckon almost any manager would have gotten a similar reaction. Kit can hold the fort until the end of the season and then do the noble thing and step aside.

I seem to recall the deal for Kit involved an agreement to return to the U21 job if the job went mams-up......that would be my preference.....he will be hurting and may only learn with a bit of distance and time.....we may need him (and be pleased to have him) again in the future. It looks like Curbishley next season....not inspiring, but no disaster.

2 more seasons to regroup on the parachute, before a serious tilt at promotion.

I said a while back that Warburton would be a good choice for us. It's also worth noting that Khan is apparently ready to make money available. There's a lot that Khan can be criticised for, but I've never understood the criticism that he's penny pinching. If you include the January of our ill-fated last year in the Premier League, he's shown more than willing to put his hand in his pocket. We haven't always got good value for what we've spent (Come on down, Mitroglu), but that's not the same thing at all. Alar dye would be a safe pair of hands, but not one I'd be keen on. Not At all Fulhamish, in my opinion.

Personally no I would not object, although not my first choice
but I am sure, if funds were available would have the contacts.
to attract some half decent players.

Would anyone object to Allardyce?

DR would going by his previous comments. And I'd join him - simply because can't see Allardyce as the right sort to 'nurture' the youngsters.

Going off centre, what about something more sweeping and go for "The Brady's"? Paul (Peschisolido) as manager/coach and Karen (Brady) as CEO!?

McCarthy good choice to sort this dire mess out
It will be interesting if my source is correct. I can't give too much away but he says deal is as good as done.

Whether true or not I'd think it was a good appointment in our circumstances. It gives me a shudder when I hear Kit talking about rebuilding for next season. I hope he stays in some capacity but he's had long enough and if anything its now getting worse. He'd be far too much of a gamble to keep in charge next season.

Maybe its a Kit and McCarthy combo ?

Yep, I would. As I said before, he'd be a safe pair of hands, but seems entirely unFulhamish to me in every regard. I have similar feelings about McCarthy, whose style of football is often less than inspiring, but who seems a nicer bloke than Allardyce and is at least a Fulhamish personality.

Pesch has potential, but he's not what we need right now. As for Karen Brady, let's not let that ghastly woman anywhere near our lovely old Fulham.

Presumably any Mccarthy deal would be dependent on Ipswich not going up? I'm not sure I see McCarthy coming to Fulham.

As for Fulhamish/unFulhamish, McCarthy seems to be a decent guy who has experience with rebuilding some battered teams. That is plenty Fulhamish for me right now!

I can't forget how dull our games against McCarthy's Wolves were. I know we need to rebuild and that we all want to get back into the Premier League, but personally I'd rather stay in the Championship for longer if it meant playing a decent style of football rather than what I associate (fairly or unfairly) with both McCarthy and Allardyce. I agree though that McCarthy at least seems like a good bloke and would be an excellent fit if you just look at personality and leave footballing philosophy out of it.

I would just like to say a quick word in favour of Kit Symons, No I don't believe he is the man for the job next season, but he is a Fulham man, I loved the team he played In and what they did for this club, he has been a scout, youth team manager and Reserve team manager and when the unthinkable back to back delegations was about to happened he stepped up to the plate and steadied the ship and got us the points to survive, he didn't do it in the style and way we would have hoped or probably he would have hoped but he did it!
What ever happens now I will be gutted if he didn't stay at the club in some capacity, if he does stay he will have my full support at the start of next season and I hope fans give him the respect he deserves.
