Good news and right decision.

He takes on a squad with great potential for the future. 18 month deal that will hopefully take us back to the Premiership.

Good news - he deserves his chance. The wording on the website is a bit odd, "with an agreement in place to the conclusion of the 2015-16 season." Does that mean no contract signed as yet? I think until the end of 2015/16 is about right.

Alexander Kacaniklic sounds happy: "@AKacaniklic: Congratulations to Kit Symons becoming the manager! Good luck to him and his staff. Exiting times at Fulham." (I think he means exciting!)

Equally strange was this comment from Khan -

"First, I must offer my sincere appreciation to the search committee for its commitment to the process. We asked a lot of all five committee members, perhaps more than they anticipated .."

Whatever did he mean?

This is good news - Kit seems popular amongst the players and has us playing reasonable football and more importantly getting the results. I think the situation would be even better if he had a wise head about to mentor and support him.

Like Bidley I think this feels a proper Fulhamish appointment and the most Fulham like manager since Roy. The Championship is a strange division in that not much separates top from bottom, about a month ago we looked domed, now we are a couple of wins away from mid table - a couple more away from pushing for the playoffs. Football has a lot to do with confidence - let's hope the current good form continues and we build a bit of a run.

As others have said, it's the right appointment, notwithstanding some reservations about Kit's inexperience as a number 1 and the tendency of the side to play well in parts rather than over a full 90 minutes. Let's hope he can maintain the progress so far and prove our reservations to be misplaced. And Danny Murphy coming in to the coaching set up would be perfect.
