I like that one SC. I must be an annoying weirdo too as I'm enjoying this thread. This and the post that Jabbo put up of past shirts that I immediately connect to players of that particular era. Do stripey teams in the Championship have to have a plain back to their shirts? I was watching Sheffield Utd (I think it was) where they were playing in a shirt with stripes on the back too. It would be nice to go back to proper shirt designs again.
I have mentioned my wants are red and white vertical stripes, pretty evenly sized. Just thought of another - has to be v-neck as that is more thinning than round neck. Though I have just lost 30lbs over the last 8 months through diet and exercise, so that isn’t a problem for me, just thinking of the rest of you fat bastards
Maybe you are not fat after all, just wearing the wrong shaped necks! https://www.herzindagi.com/fashion/necklines-for-slim-look-article-196939# Vertical stripes and v-neck, we'll be the slimmest fans in the Championship!
Thanks! I can be weirder, I have redesigned every single NIHL National ice hockey team's logo for next season and every team's shirts with an alternate (that's UK ice hockey just in case you don't know) and then posted them on an ice hockey forum, I then got asked to do a few other teams so I did them too. Then I got asked to do two for real recreational teams, one for a current NIHL National team and a goalie's helmet design. I have to say mostly the comments I got were mainly positive which was edifying. If someone didn't like something that was fine but I didn't get abused, just 'N'ah not for me' and that's all you can ask.
Does it come with a bright green curly wig, comically long red shoes, and a flower that squirts water? (Only joking. I like it, I think)
I always enjoy the speculation regarding next season's kit too allbeit I think there comes a point where you become too old / fat to start wearing the replica versions and just look like an over-stuffed sausage. Given the failure of Sports Republic to get everything wrong on nearly every front in 22/23, I am surprised that no one has yet predicted a blue jersey, white shirts and blue socks as the home kit.
A nice Hummel kit from Saint-Etienne, reminds me of something… https://www.footballshirtculture.com/new-kits/saint-etienne-2023-24-hummel-away-kit.html
If the shirts had stripes that started wide apart, at the top and the bottom, then tapered to stripes with narrower gaps, the combination of the average fans' "ample waist" and the narrowing stripes would have the effect of looking like vertical stripes. Perhaps. From a distance. In poor light.
