All of which is fair comment. It occurs to me, however, that whilst we have all been concentrating on Marlons criminal record and playing ability we may have overlooked one thing:- his effect on the other players. Now I know he has had some physical run ins with other players in the past (our own Dean Windass for example), but would this colour the way his team mates view him? I should say yes. My guess would be that any player with kids (especially girls), a wife, or girlfriend would be somewhat shy of introducing him. I suspect most wags would tell their partners to keep him away. Not good for team bonding. Nor is the worry that he may nick your car, watch, or wallet. We don't want the situation where Marlon gets sent off for foul play, and half the team leave the pitch with him to make sure he doesn't rifle their pockets in the changing rooms. Add to that his irritating arrogance and I guess you might get a little bit of disruption in the squad. I'm all for rehabilitation, but surely the place for him is Alcatraz, or Leeds, or Leicester?
