I think when someone has made up their mind to take their own life the issues of causing a very small incovneinece to others is probably not uppermost in their minds.
Gary Speed killed himself. Perhaps we should put an article on the Geordie board asking them their thoughts on suicide - I'm sure they'll be more than willing to co-operate
Fair comment but I can see how it can be viwed as an easy way out. I'm guessing the "suucess" rate is pretty high in comparison to other methods.
96% "success" rate....it's one of the big ones....so there is merit to what you say.....rush hour at Euston though...****ish. Last train at Amersham or something like that may be acceptable.
I'm a little disturbed that we're debating the logic and decency behind this but I totally agree with you
I know. I'm normally a decent sort of guy but that **** pissed me off. I live near a popular jumping spot on a bridge. It is either the wind, non aligned Republicans or jumpers that cause the bridge to be closed. It is a pain in the arse. After 7/7 Dara O'Briain did a bit about the reaction of Londoners. "Oh my God, a bomb on the Picadilly line.......I guess I could get the Victoria Line". It isn't that we are ****s, it is that we just want to get on with ****....and are ****s too.
What you say about 7/7 is very true - at work everyone's first reaction was shock and then about 10 minutes later it was "how the **** are we going to get home". I'd be lying if I said I wasnlt one of those people!
I used 9/11 as an excuse to go to the pub. I used the excuse that the street the Office was on was locked down.... I don't think I got away with it.
