Is it just me but I think this means it WILL be 4.30 and the 'changes to the fixture' means possibly Boro instead of Southampton, rather than moving the date

Different Venue? Has to be played before players report for international duty.

The 4.30 KO time is a possible nightmare scenario. Extra time and leg it quick back to Kings Cross, missing penalties if needed. The trains after the 9.00pm departure are overnight specials, getting you back to Hull 9.45am.

Like you, I am hoping it just means a change to Boro.

If any party appeals, (and they probably will), then more time will be needed to hear the appeal. £200 mill at stake. My gut feeling is no way on the 23rd, but what do I know?

My gut feeling is that for this reason expulsion is not a realistic possibility. Absolute minimum time frame is going to be at least a couple of weeks. Players will be at the World Cup, fitness and match sharpness levels will have decreased somewhat. Just not viable.

Realistically what they can do is give the involved staff a ban from football activities. A huge fine if promoted. A fine and points deduction if they’re not. Their hands are tied due to the timescale and the grey area within their own rules regarding punishment which is left wide open to be challenged.

Surely trains will be put on to meet the demand? They’d make a killing.

Hull Trains cant put anything on later, there isnt space on the east coast mainline schedule.

But City fans could get LNER tickets for services to Newcastle and Edinburgh and jump off in Donny or York. They run until very late at night. Then you dont have to stay over of cant afford it.

Unless Boro get in by the back door,in which case the East Coast trains will be rammed going North to Darlington...

There are only two later LNER trains departing Kings Cross connecting to Hull on the 23rd. The earliest you get back to Hull is 9.00am ish. Kip on a station bench? Or a night in a hotel and return home Sunday.

I'm in the same pickle, nothing going back North after 6-7 pm.I did look at an overnight bus(takes 8 hrs odd to Glasgow) but if it's on and I go I'm looking at booking a Hotel and flying back Sunday from Luton.

If I do that and you're in a fix, you're more than welcome to crash in my hotel F.O.C but it would be up at Luton airport :emoticon-0148-yes:

If the appeal takes place on Tuesday the 19th, that only leaves a couple of sales days for tickets! You can't sell tickets before the appeal is heard, as who do they sell them to, Soton or Boro fans?

Looks like an absolute Bradley Dack by the EFL.

I might be having a 2 day trip to London next weekend to do tourist crap. Could cost me an arm and leg, already £350 in for train tickets and hotel for a couple of nights - got a good breakfast deal though.
Better enjoy your breakfast

According to the National Rail app, no fares available for the last 2, so it's 19:40 or finding one with an obscure connection

Try Sheffield

Dept Kings Cross 21.40
Arrive Sheffield 00.16 (Sunday)
Last train to Hull dept Sheffield 23.01 (Saturday)

There are later trains Saturday evening but, as with Hull, you arrive Sheffield 8.00 am.

Anywhere else you would like me to try?

It is no consolation, but the last "sensible" LNER train to Middlesbrough is 19.33. An hour at least to get from the stadium to Kings Cross and if they are on that train, going to miss the last 10 minutes of injury/VAR added time.

Do the ****** **** £$%&*%%%***** at the EFL consider this when choosing the KO time?

If you check out trains in or out of King’s Cross for the 23rd that you could get for the match all that are left are over £200 in first class. We have them all. There would be non left for Boro fans.
