A lot of fuss is made about the lack of black managers in the PL.

But one thing that hasnt been mentioned is that managers are largely retired players, and the current group of managers are mostly from the era when racism was at its worst, and black players were not so common, so there are less black players to go on to become managers.

One women on the telly did so speech on TV once about how there has never been a black PL managers, even though we have had Chris Houghton, Paul Ince and Ruud Hullit.

I can see Ledley King, Sol Campbell, Patrick Viera, and probably many other I cannot think of on the spot becoming good managers.

2. ok to sing luis suzrez/john terry you know what you are....

3. not ok to make moneky chants or call poeple anything to do with colour.

as we all know item 3 is unaccpetable and reprehensible and the serbians will get thiers i hope... yet item 1 and 2 are no problem.

The only two things further i will comment on are:

1. I was young when the kick it out campaign started and it did make a difference. the fact is the FA have just kept it ticking over without and effort since then IMO. they found something they could point to and its easy.

2. I whole heartedly agree that if ferdinand really wants to go do something he should fix the PFA as its fundamentally broken... perhaps he likes the buddy buddy attitude that looks after top players there and wants his own slice of the pie but seriously... take over the PFA... don't go making your own little special interest group and ignore the day in day out grass roots guys who should actually eb the focus.

Oh I know mate: as usual too many interest groups & lawyers with plenty of employees would disappear overnight if you actually made the law as clear & logical as that.

So back to my original point. No longer about race. It's about power & money and who wants it. Use whatever leverage you can to obtain it; never mind if in doing so you actually damage the goal you're using as your shield.
 
This racism campaign just gets better every day. I know Rio Ferdinand seems a bit slow but I don't think he would be that stupid to try and start a black players union, that would cause a lot more trouble.
 
Just going to throw this out there...

What if they are behind the Kick It Out campaign? Them not wearing the T-shirt has raised far more publicity than if they had wore it. Maybe it was all part of a plan to raise the profile...:huh::huh::huh::huh:

PS - the news of these players setting up a black players union is ridiculous though. It would just be creating a further boundary IMO. Why not white input...?

I doubt it was intentional but you are right in that it has been effective.

Its a theroy alright but I seriously doubt if Rio Ferdinand or his brother would have the brainpower to come up with such a plan. They both look and sound slow as fook.

Martin Offiah believes football can deal with its problem with racism by becoming a more family-friendly sport like rugby league.

"Rugby league is seen as more of a family sport," Offiah told BBC Sport

"Perhaps more women at matches would give football a different atmosphere."

He added: "What you hear from crowds at rugby league matches is totally different than what's acceptable in football. In football, it's not only racial abuse, but it's chants about people's mothers and girlfriends, etc.

"Those crowds are predominantly made up of young to middle-aged males. We all know that when men get together the language is always going to be more juicy."

Just think this is getting so blown out of proportion and that everyone is actively looking for it now even if it is not there.
 
i think the fact that john terry was fined by chelsea (some put the figure in the region of £500k, plus the £200k fine by the FA) , plus a 4 match ban and being stripped of the FA captaincy and retiring from internationals due to his position in the squad being untenable is punishment enough.

we in this country are streets ahead of most other nations when it comes to racial tolerance in a football stadium.

as for roberts, i've heard enough of him on the radio to form my opinion of him, what a class A ****.

Racism row: lawyer reveals black footballers' association talks
A leading human rights barrister has said talks over a separate black footballers' association have begun.

Peter Herbert, who chairs the Society of Black Lawyers, says the discussions are at a preliminary stage, but involve several players from various levels, including the Premier League.

Herbert says the new organisation would provide a more "radical" and "vigorous" approach to combating racism.

The working title for the proposed body is the Black Players' Association.

"I think there comes a point in any community's life or experience where enough is enough," he said.

"People appear to have decided they have to do something more vigorously."

A number of players refused to wear T-shirts supporting the Kick It Out anti-racism campaign at the weekend after Jason Roberts made it clear some black players were unhappy with the organisation's failure to make inroads on the issue.

It has not been revealed whether Roberts is involved in the new group.

Football Association chairman David Bernstein says a breakaway organisation would not be the best way to deal with the issue.

"Fragmentation isn't in anyone's interest. Great passions are involved here. I hope sense prevails and people can work together," said Bernstein.

So talks have already taken place about a 'black only' players union.

Those black and ethnic players not joining the 'new' union should join with the rest of the PFA and condemn the idea, there is no all black prem league or black only football league, there is no black sports tv channel showing games between black only teams, so the players involved in this breakaway idea earn their living in the same teams in the same leagues as the non black and ethnic players and one union should be for 'all' players regardless of anything else.

Ridding the game of racism within England would be better served if the players involved in this new breakaway union fought for changes within the PFA that gives them a bigger voice on racist issues rather than turn it into a them versus us scenario.

If another Suarez/Terry type case rears it's head and there's another organisation involved apart from the FA and PFA it complicates the issue even more, and if the new union disagrees with the punishment handed to anyone found guilty of racism will they call for a strike to get their way?

I wonder will Wio accept Ashley Cole in his union. After all it's for black player's only and Cole is a choc ice according to Wio, maybe Ashley Cole can set up a choc ice union. They really are going too far with this now and if Ferdinand trys to set up his own union he will make a show of himself.

Oh!!! What a fantastic idea! Lets try to kill Racism off by creating segregation in football.....

This is why the whole anti-racism fight in this country is backwards. If we focuses more on football itself this would not be an issue!

I Know this is not particularly on topic; but I know some areas in the UK where you get accused of being racist for taking part in general banter with black friends; idiocracy!!!!

So John Terry said a naughty word and we have found out he is scum! GET OVER IT! You will always have certain people in life like this! The more we look in to racism the worse it will get as we are simply pointing out any differences between each race.

Punish but don't pay attention. This is the key!
