Ki Sung-yeung's agent is in London. But talking to which club? Most think it's a choice between QPR and Liverpool. #qpr #lfc

Celtic star Ki Sung-Yueng is in talks with QPR, his agent has confirmed.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Scottish champions with speculation mounting that he would complete a move earlier this week.

“It’s true that talks with QPR are in progress, but nothing has been decided yet,” a statement from Ki’s representatives said in a statement according to The Chosun Ilbo.

The midfielder did not appear willing to move to QPR when quizzed about the move last week.

“I heard that QPR will have a press conference on [June] 9 with Korean player but I won’t be there,” the South Korea international told reporters.

“I know that QPR showed interest in me but I don’t know what’s going on right now. Anyway, I’m not the player who will attend press conference, it’s 100%.

“I have not decided my future, now is time to focus on [the] Olympics. It’s uncomfortable to see many transfer news about me. I don’t even want to know the stories unless I receive an offer.

“Who would go to QPR? I’m curious. Maybe Lee Chung-Yong or Park Chu-Young?”

According to the Korean fan sites Sparky met with this bloke when he was in Korea finalizing the deal with JSP. Looks good.

The number of these nearly-but-not-confirmed rumours make me think that Hughes, to quote Gene Hunt (Life on Mars) has been"more fingers in more pies than leper in a pastry factory."

I reckon we'll get one or the other of Ki and Hoillet. I'd love to know which one is MH's first choice though.

Ki plays CM doesn't he? He's the one we want if he does.

Absolutely agree, like the look of this lad a lot, him, Diakite and Faurlin to man centre mid, Park and Tarbs on the flanks but freeish in a 4-5-1 turning in to 4-3-3 when we have the ball........but Sparky likes 4-4-2, so it looks like good competition for places.
Only concern would be he's in their Olympics squad so limited time with squad before the season and injury risk...
Now DT will take the piss for talking formations.....

I think we need him more than Hoilett. We dont need another winger, does anyone think Hoilett is that much of an upgrade over Taarabt or Park?

We need a CM or its Derry starting the season.

hoilett to me is a luxury signing, sure hed improve the squad but we need a CB, FB and CM way before we need another winger.

I think Park's (and to a lesser extent Tarb's) versatility mean that either is fine.

He (Ki) does sound like he's a playmaker though and they're always worth their weight in gold so I'm inclined to agree with you Col.

Ki Faurlin and Diakite would all be in the matchday squad and Derry or Barton would only get on the bench if someone gets injured or goes to the ACON.
Same with the wing, we have Taarabt and Park playing with Mackie on the Bench, SWP will only make the bench in case of injury/suspension.

Faurlin and Diakite have not played together yet add to this that Faurlin is still recovering how could anyone put these two in the same team at the moment ... There is a massive jump before you even consider this. I am beginning to think of two sides myself for home and away matches ... its so puzzling at the moment

Yeah, it's difficult trying to second guess Sparky, but I'm pretty sure he and his team have a plan and aren't buying blokes just because they are available.
I still want to see more of Traore playing left wing as well, he's the best crosser of the ball we have.

Young will leave and that leaves us with Fabio and Traore and the possibility of Fabio being recalled. Hill is 1st choice CB at the moment so he will not be moving to FB.

Think MH recognises our midfield was the weakest link last year and is addressing this as priority. We had nothing going on the wings and in the middle (until Diakite) arrived. Our defence wasn't that bad, thought Paddy was our weak link there and we've found a replacement.

I've seen KSY play a few times, he doesn't set the world on fire and I'd have to question the idea of putting any Asian player in the centre of defence or midfield. Too lightweight for the EPL. We need pace and strength in the middle of the park.

adel, mackie dont have an ounce of pace. Also, why do we need another shirt seller?!. Hoillet has pace, runs at defenders and scores!. Anyone can look good playing for Celtic in that **** league!. Hoillet over the other shirt seller hands down. We need some pace out wide

I've often heard it said that Adel has no pace..........but I always get the impression that, whilst he's obviously not megga quick, he has a pretty good turn of speed!!
Hoillet wouldn't get in ahead of Park and Taarabt imo. (I expect Park to take Mackie's place!!)
