I wouldn't say I have an Italian team to be honest. Lazio are the closest team to my family but I have no particular affinity with them. I have enjoyed so many great sides.
A particular favourite along with the classic Milan side, would be the Parma side at the end of the 1990's. Really sad what's gone on there since Cannavaro, Thuram, Buffon etc have left.

Used to watch the Italian football when it was on C4 on Sunday afternoons with James Richardson and had the Saturday morning highlights show .
Garza was at Lazio at the time and all the big names played in its.y rather than here.
Used to like watching inter at the time and they were pretty crap ,think the divine pony tail played for them briefly!

"Fight Doctor" by Ferdi Pacheco (probably spelt it wrong) is my favourite. I've read some great golf books, including autobiographies of most of the old masters, Walter Hagen, Bobby Jones etc., but "The Greatest Game Ever Played" by Mark Frost tops the lot IMO. I lent it to a workmate who was an amateur boxer and he agreed.

going back a comment or two.. i follow both boxing and mma. if you like the whole build up to the main event then you should go and see mma. i've seen ufc at the o2 as well as boxing; the ufc wins by a long way as there is stuff to do/watch inbetween fights. the whole show gets the "american" make over, with stats, analysis, the works. it's brilliant. it's far more technical too and the fighters are all paid the same/capped amounts by the ufc - which makes them all hungry to win a title. they make more money from outside stuff but the only way to do that is to get to the top. the fighters dont get to avoid each other either and there's only one belt in each division. i would recommend watching to anyone who hasnt seen any yet.

That Parma side was quality. Didn't they also have Enrico Ciasa and Nakata...?

I didn't realise that Thompson had failed a drug test too. I knew Teper did though.

That's bloody shocking. I agree with Tony Bellew... anyone found to have taken drugs to cheat in a contact sport should get an instant life ban...!!

I hope Price gets himself back in the mix because him doing so will only add to what is already a strong heavyweight scene in the UK.

Calzaghe would've torn Froch up for arse paper...!!

They did, although Nakata came when they started going downhill if I remember correctly.
