Think all of our games are as difficult as the next and are key results. Top or bottom of the table teams, Playing away hasn't been our strength, Fully fit squad, or important players out through injuries will all effect our performances & results. Every game now is a nail biting one & key to our season.
All matches are very important to say the least. Actually I forgot to mention of course yesterday's match at Colchester. Also the other one of MK Dons, they are trying for a late run for the play offs. At least it usually means that when they are going for something they have to have a go down here, down here they rarely succeed. (I know we have lost 3) but not to teams that were expecting a win against us. An interesting run in that's for sure!
I think we all agree we need a bit of consistency from the team. If they are beaten by a better team on the day that is one thing. Providing they have given their all to get a result. I don't know if it is me but sometimes they seem to be way off the pace, second to everything. There are not many teams in this league that I would or could say we wouldn't give them a game on their turf. Results like Walsall just defy logic sometimes then they pull one out of the hat at Colchester, where strangely I didn't think we would get a result. I though we would manage a draw but not a win. Just goes to show "Football's a funny old game".
I think you are totally right that it is about consistency from now on in, and the results over the next two or three games wont define the season. Against Walsall from what i hear there was nothing more you could apart from score and it sounded like you, dit put a little of effort in and battered them, but hearing from some comments people were not happy. granted results are not guaranteed but like you if a team puts in all they can then you can never slate them.
There is no truer saying though football is a funny old game. As the guys that were there say we battered walsall 7/8 shots on target they get 3 one goes in!!!! Now is that just hard luck or is that poor finishing from our point of view?
All games are important but some are more important than others eg Bournemouth and Brighton. Not only do we stand to win 3 points but we also have the opportunity to deny our fellow promotion hopefuls. When we play mid table or lower sides, their situation doesn't affect us. Wallsall denied us 3 points but them getting them doesn't matter. If we let Bournemouth or Brighton gain a further 3 point advantage it matters hugely.
The pressure is going to be on him anyway there is no doubting that. If we lose to Bournemouth it will not be the end of the world the same as if you lose to us. It will just make it a lot harder. If we win on Tuesday we will not be that far behind you which means you will have to have a go at us and we you. Would love to be there, I really think it will be a scorcher. Still first things first we have to get a result against Yeovil first. Especially to put you guys under more pressure for Saturday.
Saturdays win at Colchester was as much of a surprise as the loss at Walsall! If Brighton & Bournemouth maintain their current form then it will be very hard for us to catch them. I think we need to win 10 more games (at least), obviously the 7 at home are 'winnable', so where are the away wins going to come? One next Saturday would be a huge help!
we have a trickey game at Exeter. Would love a win but as long as we get something then i will be happy. Everyone is gonig to drop points and sometimes games on the trot and Saturday will not decide anything other than 3 points..
As per my post earlier. I think which ever team we look at, unless there is a real catastrophy of a run in by any current top 6. All should be there or there abouts. The big fight for me is who is going to grab the auto's.
The Bournemouth game will massively decide things as if both teams continue on getting 2 points per game , they'll pip us to the post by 2 points.
I don't think it will be a total disaster for either team to lose. I do agree though if Saints don't get a result at Bournemouth I cannot see, short of a disastrous run that they wouldn't finish at least 2ND. A draw at this point is going to be my prediction. I may change my mind though after tonight's result.
