Nolan isnt stupid hes been given a 5 year contract on £50 grand a week. £10 grand more than Newcastle who only offered a 2 year contract.
 
I think JFH went to Cardiff after us and did the same there, I know he took some stick from the North stand on his return to the Valley...."we want our money back" was one of the more pleasant chants....He was pretty disinterested all that game, I think he was subbed in the 2nd half and the sprint to the tunnel was probably the fasted he'd moved all day...!
 
Ye gods - £50k a week in the Championship on a five year contract - really fine player IMO, but that's one hell of a lot of money.

Then again, did you ever see that leaked West Ham salary list the season before last?

Boa Morte on £80k a week - good grief.
 
Alan Pardew seems hell-bent on getting rid of the English contingent at Newcastle (namely Nolan and Barton) which has served the club so well in getting back to and stabilising in the Premier League and replacing it with expensive imports. Nolan will be a big loss to the Toon, and his goalscoring exploits will probably help the Hammers back up straight away.

How on earth can West Ham still afford to pay so much though?
