?

Is the Nolan deal good business or madness?

  1. It is a discrace

  2. I'm very disappointed, but worse things could happen

  3. Its seems not bad business, due to Nolan Attributes

  4. Its a good deal!

/b/ has been terrible for years though imo. Once it got ridiculously famous its comedy gold quickly got replaced by pointless, inane crap.

This is one of the worst threads ever. ****ing hell, I'm more concerned about the amount of people agreeing with him.

Completely agree. When you think about it, choosing that move is just ****ing madness. He's went from being a Premier League player to a Championship player. The only thing which will be improved by going down there is his wages, which says a lot in my opinion.

Before I get lambasted by some WUMs, could I point out that, firstly, I want all these guy to stay, and secondly, I'm the only person on here who has used the word 'lambasted' today.

Look at our midfield after they leave:

    Gosling-Tiote-Cabaye-Ben Arfa

With the exception of Gosling perhaps, that is considerably stronger, in my opinion, than

    Barton-Tiote-Nolan-Jonas.

With the left-back issue, I'm not convinced we can't survive without Enrique. He is class, no doubt, but with Ferguson, Naylor (probably), and hopefully M'Bengue or somebody, we will survive, and prosper, hopefully. Ashley doesn't like powerful groups below him, like Nolan/Barton's players' committee. He must be planning investment, as they told Cabaye they were aiming for Europe, and that signings will follow. Hopefully each of these guys leaving will bring equal or better replacements.

The only issue could be team spirit, but in fairness before 09/10 we hadn't had that since the mid-90s.

So long as Coloccini doesn't leave...

If The Zog, Barnetta and Gardner come we will have a good squad, and + Raylor and Guthrie backup

Good thread, like the optimism! Jose leaving is the biggest problem in my opinion as even average left backs are rare atm, other than that, I'm not worried!

Even in its golden days it was more miss than hit I found, but yeah it just gets worse. Can't actually remember the last time I was on it, nevermind found anything truly lulz worthy.

Ever thought that he got told by Pardew that he wasn't in his strongest starting 11 and he wanted to play football? That's what I think has happened, plus he loves Fat Sham!

Nolan did well here but it's clear apart from goal poaching he offers little to the team. Team spirit maybe but we arnt in the dressing room although I admit he seems like a popular player, still we don't want to put a 30 yro on 55k a week just for him to not even make the starting 11 :). Nolan has got himself a cracking deal for 5 years it's crazy does anyone really think we should of matched west hams offer? Nolan is not a world class player and I don't think the whole club will fold if he leaves. We got rid of him for a great price by the sound of it and he's playing at a level that will suit him more its great for everybody and I wish him all the best! Now we can hopefully get a decent striker in and I'll be a bit happier. This may even be good for us him and Barton have to much player power, Barton seriously annoyin me now we stuck with him through prison etc and he's on 80k a week most clubs would of sacked him now one decent season and he's acting like he deserves better, show some gratitude and keep your mouth shut!!!! He's tweets are more harming than Nolan leaving!!

He has been a good servant over last 2 seasons, but the cons outweigh the pros with Nolan, I would be happy to have him as back up if wages were same as Guthries. Upwards and Onwards!
