He's been talking about using his speed and boxing skills all week so will be interested to see how that works as Froch ahsn't got the best defensive skill set in the world.
No, unfortunately he's a red tit. I'll forgive him that, though. I love my boxing (second only to football) but have become disenchanted in recent years. I grew up with just eight different weights and eight World Champions. Nowadays, with all the different weights and the various Mickey Mouse "world" boxing organisations, would you believe there are over EIGHTY so-called "World Champions"! Boxing sold its soul to the Devil with everyone chasing the quick buck and, for the most part, its appeal has been lost to me. I boxed as an amateur with reasonable success at welterweight (super heavy these days) and loved every minute of it. The people in boxing are great, a brotherhood if you like, and I came from a boxing family. There were boxers, referees and judges over several generations and I was taught to box by my cousin in the back garden of his house. I still feel the pain, the bastard!! I would like Kessler to win tonight because Froch is a chopsy so and so. If Kessler had been fighting regularly, I think he would win but I believe his lack of activity in the last two years might count against him and Froch has home advantage and support. Too close to call for me.
Froch by comfortable points decision. Should be a great fight. Bit over hyped as both are good but not great and not even the best in this division. I back all brits in the ring so hope Froch does it. Calzaghe would have beaten him easily though.
I'm just the happy audience, but I'm told Froch doesn't have a decisive strike - and I've see Kessler have just that you guys should see the interviews Kesslers been giving on danish tv over the last few days. He's cool and confident...
Not at all. Just about everyone I know who has an interest thinks Kessler will do it. That maybe because, in Wales, we remember what a good performance he put in against Calzaghe....I happen to think that was Calzaghe's best performance by the way. I believe Kessler would have won that night against any Super Middle Weight since Eubank, he was just unlucky that Calzaghe was around at the same time and was truly special (especially on that night). I like Froch as a boxer that's all. Granite chin, takes the centre of the ring and mixes it. When he's on it he's near impossible to get rid of and unrelenting coming forward. Seems to have got his mojo back since Ward also (he was so sluggish that night or was Ward much too quick...I want to see a rematch). I think this fight is 50/50 but for those reasons and, as others have stated, Kessler's injury problems and less action of late...I'll plump for Froch. Re: calling Calzaghe out That's how boxing works isn't it? Young ambitious challengers do their utmost to generate media interest in order to make fighting them a good business proposition for the Champion. Admittedly he was particularly chopsy but he seems like a decent enough sort of bloke to me.
If Froch just throws in 2's he gets beat. He did that first time and it allowed Kessler back on the front foot and Kessler got the deserved win. If Froch starts throwing in 4s or 5s, he wins. Simples! Just cant see Froch making the same mistake again..
Centre of the ring belongs to Froch . Only one going back is Kessler. Good fight so far bur Kessler not busy enough
