I'd have Bent back - I think along the same lines as Cest about him but you cannot deny his goalscoring record and we NEED someone like him so if he was available then he'd have his shirt back for me... No to Jones - he looked an excellent player until he was crocked by David James in a meaningless friendly - since then he only seems to turn it on when he wants to - although he is one of the best defenders of a corner I have seen at Sunderland!!
No to both, Jones was being ripped apart before we sold him (on the cheap) for being lazy. Bent is just a mercenary end of and would not have the qualities I believe Martin would be looking for. Surely there is hungry strikers out there? Agbonlahor/Zamora/Johnson plus it would be nice to take a striker off villa for a change.
Like BB I would have both back and get rid of Bendtner. Its football not a popularity contest. I feel let down by Bent but if he did the business for us again I don't have to like him as a person.

Well, I imagine Stoke will still owe SAFC £ Xm for Jones. They may want to wipe out that particular debt. Jones could be a red-herring, so perhaps Stoke are offering A.N. Other to wipe out the debt?
no way to jones, i liked him and wanted it to work out but he just doesn't work hard enough. bent... yes. we are starting to look the sum of our parts under o'neill, so add the 15-20 goals a season bent gives you and we would be in business. hurts to admit it, but bent or someone similar is just what we need. all that said, i wouldn't be disappointed with a move for sharp or hooper, both look quality in poor leagues, let's see if they can step up so long as it's cheap.
