Kenny Samson is apparently fighting for his life in hospital after suffering a serious head injury after falling over in a drunken row.

I am sure we all remember the goal he scored for us against his old team Arsenal in a FA Cup replay.

He is another player who has suffered with gambling and alcohol demons.

I am sure that everybody on here wishes him all the best for a speedy recovery.

I knew him when he was 16 and just breaking into the Palace team around 1976, I worked with his brother-in-law and he was a really funny guy, a brilliant mimic and, like his brother-in-law couldn't resist a night out. I heard over the years he had problems with drink long before it became news. I really hope he pulls through but he's been on downward spiral for so long it doesn't augur well for him...

Wish him all the best. Wasn't there some doggy dealing with Clive Allen and Kenny?
