let me make one point about clubs reaching thier peak. There is no such thing as a "peak" for any club. There is merely a factor of how quickly you improve compared with how quicky turn ove rof players occur. In other words spurs could have won the league but thier manager chose to but the likes of peinaar, saha and nelson not real quality. if you can't get good enough to take the next step before players like modirc and bale leave then thats the peak. Factors such as money, wages and professionalism come into play but it is purely a matter of how quick the side comes together. LFC need to be top 4 next year or we will have "peaked" as the thing will come apart.
I would be interested to hear why you think that. Or are you one of those posters that just uses sound bites but has no actual substance to them?
Because he hasn't already; much as I hate him Fergie tends not to wait until the horse is dead before buying a new saddle.... What about that for a sound bite?
You're lucky to have Levy on board as a negotiator, he is very competent at getting big fees for his players. And I don't think you need a rebuild either, you need a star signing up front and a centre back or two to replace Dawson & King who are both made of crisps. Possibly a right winger too to give Lennon competition a kick up the backside. And someone to compete with Van der Vaart for the attacking midfield role. I'm not sure Levy is prepared to fund a star striker signing though. For all the talk of big bids for Negredo, Aguero, Carroll etc there hasn't been much actual action from you. Wait and see in the summer IMO. Is he happy to compete for a top four spot with the likes of Adebayor, Defeo etc or is he willing to take a gamble and go for a big name, big money striker e.g. Falcao.
some players have let kenny down over and over again, I hate watching adam, give me shelvey over him any day, adam's tackling is just so poor and his set pieces and passing aint been too great either. To take us forward i think kenny should resign, bring rafa back, get a couple of players like banega and soldado in, and we defo need a RW (farfan?navas?krasic?) also think carra needs to hang his boots up soon and join our coaching staff, he has become a liability. A midfield of banega and lucas would be one of the best CM pairings in the league, just need strong consistent wingers providing for big andy
I would respectfully disagree with us not improving! Under Hodgson we were lucky to win, under Dalglish aprt from the last month or so we have looked like winning in nearly every game we have played. I also think the idea that luck even's out is just a myth; yes we have ourselves to blame for not putting some of the chances away, but largely we have been very unlucky and had more than our share of bad decisions go against us. This is why I am quite optimistic because under Hodgson for example the problems were huge and the solutions hard to imagine, this season the problems are obvious and actually very minor and easy to fix. In some ways perhaps we have been very lucky because we can all see that what we really need more than anything is just a little bit more quality, two more players at a minimum of real quality and we are looking very good! These don't even have to be world class or big money signings just astute signings much like Newcastle have made. The fact we have dominated so many games, including against some of the top sides show not much is wrong and highlight just how much its the small details that make all the difference, a much different scenario than when Woy was in charge!
