“For me, okay it’s my testimonial... and I’m the most important person here. But, everyone deserves applause and appreciation from the fans out there for where this club is today - and I mean everyone. So make sure you’re on the pitch, ****ing chests out and you let ‘em know that you ****ing know that because of you, Saints are where the **** we are today. Now let’s go...!" - Super Kelvin Davis - 18/05/2016
That was incredibly moving seeing him sat with his son on his knee after the match. Danny Butterfields right foot is still in fine form. Pinging it everywhere

I bet after that game, Rickie sent a text to Brenda saying, " When I said sign that bearded twat I played with at Saints, I meant Danny Butterfield" .. Rickie was loving those crosses.
His crossing is superb. I remember back in League One, it was Tranmere at home, and the old pricks who sit behind me were moaning about Butterfields lack of pace and poor crossing, literally all match. And then Butterfield, just as they started revving up to moan for the umpteenth time, put in probably one of the best crosses I've ever seen right onto the head of Lambert ... and I'm sure you know the rest. Never heard them criticise Butterfields crossing again after that!
Lovely, moving scenes in that Uncovered. All the fans and all the players were there, when it came down to it, because SKD is such a wonderful human being. Great to see people like Oxo and Corkie turning up, and Puncheon of course. I love this club.
Yep, I think that football career was flashing in front of his eyes and you could also see that everyone seemed to know it. Thought his son was very mature at that point. Knew his dad needed his support right at that moment. As for Danny Butterfield, I swear he could cross the ball onto a sixpence hanging 6' 6" in the air, from anywhere on the right, back as far as the halfway line. We were spoiled rotten by Him and Frazer and their ability to find Rickie's head from distance. Frazer was excellent at it and Danny's right foot was made for crossing the ball. I reckon the guy should coach the skill.

Perhaps he was a hero at Saints because we didn't get on his back like the Mackem "supporters" did.....
A national newspaper at the time said that us Sunderland fans would rather have a plucked chicken hanging from the crossbar than suffer Kelvin Davis. They were right. He wasn't known as 'Calamity Kelvin' for no reason...
Given Sunderland's Premier League form, over the last few years, you should be an expert in poor footballers. You've had enough of them.
