That doesn't quite work without the music and Julie Covington singing it. Some Martians wouldn't go amiss either.
Yay, someone got my reference! You're right of course, but how about a slightly remixed instrumental? Also, Jen, how could you dislike a reference to one of the best songs from one of the best musicals of all time!!!!
The BBC's Matt Slater tweeted about some developments earlier. Basically, Trev Birch is trying to sell some Fratton land to Keith Harris for some reason, but the PST already own some of the other land (through Stuart Robinson). But if one of them gets control of Pompey and the other one doesn't allow access over their land to the club, then FP would probably be unusable. It's weird. http://twitter.com/mattslaterbbc
A New Jerusalem beckoning, then? Or perhaps Pompey should be renamed Pompeii after the fallout as these ensuing events unfold!! I can feel the tremors already under Fratton Park.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21376866 Indeed. That put any nail in the coffin of a White Knight coming in to save them, so any potential Liebherr clones can stand down, if ever they were going to step up. I really think this might end in tears for Pompey fans hoping to retain any Football League status. The courts aren't going to hurry up, and Chainrai can wait as long as he doesn't need the dosh. As the owner of the stadium, he could even up the price if he really wanted to be nasty. Phoenix club beckons.
Looks like a sad ending for a once very proud club and I for one will not gloat over there demise ,if we had not moved from the Dell we probably would be out of business too ,can't see a way out but who knows stranger things have happened
No one really cares what the FA says. It's about money, and using the land and other assets for use as a football club was never the best revenue generator. On the other hand, the best chance for Chanrai and other crooks was to play the football team angle and get control for cheap, before dismantling it for their own personal gain. This ruling takes that lie away from them. So I think in that respect it is good news. Now it just becomes a grudge match. Does anyone bear enough of a grudge to still mess with over PST and Pompey fans despite getting no personal gain, as opposed to letting it go under also with no personal gain. The creditors are screwed either way.
Wasn't the council loan subject to PST being the only interested party, its a grey area, but surely Orville and Keith's consortium represent an interested party. Also, surely Orville's mobs interest impacts the court case to determine value. If chanari and Orville have reached an agreement over Fratton Reservation and the cost they were prepared to pay, this must have some bearing on value of it. Already PST have weighed in another 250k , so it must have some impact.
