    Fair enough. <ok>

There were a good few people doing as I said, but if none of them have posted on this thread then I apologise. Either way, I'm quite excited about the possibility of signing [checks title of thread...] Kei Kamara. :D

I know nothing about him to be fair, physically he seems like a powerful player and could probably suit the Premier League because of that.

Can't see us changing to 2 upfront anytime soon, so whoever we sign has to act as a lone striker. Kamara sounds like he would take Holt's role if Holt is injured or underperforming.

Hughton now saying that he is a player we have enquired about, but any negotiations will be done behind closed doors. As he is scrupulous about talking about another club's players before the selling club has said something, this would suggest that negotiations are well on their way. Still no guarantee, but along Kamara's tweet last night about 'talks', looks more on than not.

Not convinced by his stats tbh. Only 31 goals in 98 games is poor in such an average league

Rather than being underwhelmed about this signing as some mentioned, it is quite exciting to have a player that we really dont know much about. Usually we know a lot about the players we sign and know roughly what we will get from them. If CH sees something in him then that is good enough for me. Can use both feet, good in the air, bit of pace who knows we could unearth a gem. Time will tell

He seems a bit of a character as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8PRNcRPH8g

Another plus for Kamara is I suspect his wages will be pretty low, as well as the transfer fee not extortionate. Google reckons he's on about £2.5k a week, so we could comfortably quadruple his salary if Hughton thinks he could play a big part in the team.

Oh dear. Apparently some going by the 'i haven't heard of him, so he can't be any good' rule...or better yet that stoke turned him down, so why would we want him. I'll refrain from the headslaps that some posters seem to think help their posts carry weight, insight or allude to a greater knowledge on the subject matter... I'd imagine the reason stoke said no was due to him being of similar mould to KJ - and If you can't squeeze him in the 25, why would you? However if KJ ends up at Swansea, don't be surprised to see them make a move. I think he'd be a very handy player myself and better than our current options if holty isn't available...

His ratio equates to roughly 1 in 3 games in the MLS, he may be working with a poor midfield but I'd expect a better ratio. Who knows though I've never seen him play.

His team finished 3rd bottom of the MLS, so I can't imagine the service was brilliant. However, he had more shots on target than anyone in the league except the league top scorer, and the most shots of anyone (poor finishing??). He scored more than Landon Donovan, and only Thierry Henry and Robbie Keane had more assists.

gg, if he does sign, can we draft you into the role of adoring No.1 fan, just so he gets as encouraging a welcome to NC as he got to KC?

That'll do for me. Sierra Leone player of the year. 1/3 goals, and 1/3 assists sounds decent. From interviews I've seen seems like a pretty decent chap.

I will give him my support should he sign for us - for sure, he will be better and more useful than that lazy Morison.

He will improve the squad and will no doubt be cheaper than overhyped British players.

£15m for Zaha - wtf? Can you honestly tell me that he is as good as Joe Allen? :emoticon-0110-tongu

I think Allens £15m price was mega over board. He has proved this by being distinctly average, Very overrated (but talented) player, £15m for Zaha is probably too much but he is young and also probably more gifted than Allen.

I will support Kamara if he signs but im not holding my breath in terms of impact. As Golden says, "better than morison" is what we want at least.

I've never seen him play or even heard of him before, so I'm not going to make any prejudgement and say he isn't good enough. I trust our club knows what they're doing, so far Hughtons signings have been pretty good.

I think it's silly falling out with each other over potential signings, we don't know what has gone into the scouting of these targets, and, at the end of the day, they won't rely on our opinion as to who they will sign!

Take note of who CH has signed so far and support any new addition until we have good cause not to, that is all we can do really!

    Have a beer! Chill!

Thanks for that SJ. So maybe we're considering Kamara as cover/competition for Pilks rather than Holt? Is he wasteful because he shoots from anywhere, or because he just can't finish for toffee?

When you think about it, pre judging a transfer is stupid. We've seen how some players fit into teams like a glove and than can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Let's just see how he does when we sign him, I do think his physicality would be a useful asset to us anyway. I know Carrabuh will have something to say, but he seems a pretty powerful player from what I've read.

Will have to see how he does, if we sign him, which I actually hope we do. It's hardly a signing which will break the bank and will probably get more money if we were to sell Morison than Kamara's transfer fee, I just think it enables us to put more money towards another target. I hope it's Graham rather than Hooper though.
