On the contrary, I have no criticism of him throughout any of the preceding game minutes. He fumbled that cross in the first half, but that turned out OK. Seemed alright until his poor pass. Maybe Saints players didn't make themselves available close by, due to our area being swarmed by Leicester players, but still, put the ball past the halfway line.

I have posted previously that I don't care one jot about Saints being given credit by others - it's nice, and I have said that Leicester were great already, but a draw or win at Anfield and loads of Liverpool fans talking about how bad or wasteful Liverpool were (on their own LFC board, no less) wouldn't bother me at all. The press is a different matter, but those Chelsea three points were worth way more to me than being mentioned in the press even. Though yes, usually in the media it's annoying if they focus on the deficiencies of the big club above the qualities of the winning smaller club. But I don't know - the table does the talking, really!

Yes, but get it past the halfway line - give your own players time to gather themselves. None of our players I'm sure expected a half-hearted placed kick direct to a Leicester player in our own half!

Anyway, as I said, there's no anger here with Kelvin.
I just want to be above Spurs in the table... whenever they drop points, we seem to too.

Absolutely. The same could be said for Van Dyke on the second goal.

Our clearances were actually generally bad in the second half. Were a few good over-the-top balls to Mane, but otherwise, we couldn't get things clear. Guess Leicester were placed quite high up the pitch, though.

No, ridiculously terrible defending was primarily to blame for that goal. Yes, Davis should have done better. But you guys are acting like you should just expect the opposition to score on any partial or weak clearance. That's silly. All four of our FB and both midfielders were behind the ball. They ran it straight down the middle of the pitch and scored using essentially just two players and no one got near either of them.

I would like to see it again anyway, but, regardless, that kick started it all off. Was a poor run of play, and went from a situation where we were in controlled possession to that goal in a matter of seconds. That's disappointing.

What happened was the back four played for offside but Maya was a yard behind the others, playing Vardy onside, These things happen and several times in a game playing for offside saves goals being scored. It was at the end of a particularly difficult 45 minutes, when Leicester run us ragged, so i'm hesitant to apportion any particular blame to an individual. Win together, lose together (and draw!)

This game is a one off...will give Ron a few things to ponder and video clips for team training, but nothing to cause rending of garments....though Fonte can if he wants to.:)

Yes, saw they flagged that up on MOTD, re: Maya. I hadn't noticed it at the match.

I think Vardy may have been even with VVD when the ball was played, but haven't seen an overhead view/reconstruction so could be wrong about that.

But I don't think they were trying to play him offside. VVD just let Vardy get inside him. The back four were all either retreating or holding their ground. VVD knew he was beat as he went for the futile shirt grab as Vardy passed him, then made a gesture of frustration after the goal. At no point did anyone's hands go up for even a half-hearted offside appeal.

In the end, I think VVD got caught ball watching a bit, but he was not expecting Mahrez to beat both Clasie and Wanyama. It looked like that was going to be a bit of a scrum and tie things up but somehow his dribble deflected perfectly off Wanyama's foot and ended up being a perfect pass. That's why Saints were caught flat-footed.
