Keeper conundrum?

You forgot Gallas, Vimhawk.

There's been a couple of comments from our keepers.
Friedel blasted Barthez for his ludicrous comments about our squad situation and Lloris made a positive point to L'Equipe after the game.

Our American number 1 took to Twitter to voice his opinion:
"Just saw Barthez comments.
"I normally don't comment on such crap but when disrespected by someone I don't respect I must. Barthez was ignorant, disrespectful and out of order to mention my name."
Tell us what you really think, Brad! <laugh>

The French captain sounded very upbeat, however:
"The choice lies with the coach but I'm here to shake things up a bit"
"I'm not worried, if Tottenham came looking for me at Lyon, then surely I will play a part in the future of the club. I just hope that I get the chance to play.
"To get a bit of playing time against Lazio while I'm still settling in, getting to know the club and my new team mates, that can only be a good thing."

Was definitely English when I was able to hear, was saying things like "time, time" so Verts knew he had space and then shouting "wide" and pointing to the likes of Naughton and Bale in space. Weren't full blown convo's or anything but it was encouraging to see that he's not afraid to shout instructions and pointers. As I said though, at one point he had a go at all of the back four, couldn't hear the exact wording but he was basically saying "Push up for f*ck sake, I can kick further than 10 yards", he must have said it three times while also ushering them away with his arms as they were surrounding him in such close proximty to receive the ball.

You were in the Park Lane weren't you? I heard him say similar things in the Paxton end for the second half. As I said in the thread the one thing that reminded me that he hadn't been in the squad long was him shouting "hey" at Caulker instead of his name.

Well it was a long time ago., I can neither confirm nor deny what they've been saying, at this point ( personally, I don't like to brag about such things)., but I do remember strapping an old gate post to my back for security. :emoticon-0127-lipss
 
Anyone else notice we're having similar problems with players from the mid-late 90s? If it isn't Stimac ranting that we didn't let Modric go to Real Madrid (a week after Modric's Real debut!), it;s Deschamps complaining that Lloris didn't feature in a match his registration wasn't completed in time for.

Yep, I enjoy sitting in Park Lane, good atmosphere and like being as close to the away fans as possible for the banter.

Yeah, understandable really as he's probably not had enough time with the whole squad, I presume 90% of his training since he joined has been with Tony Parks and the keepers and so naturally hasn't really had much time to mingle etc.

Same, I'm usually 35/36 when I go, although sometimes I go in the upper. I only got tickets on Monday, it was a bit last minute and I found 2 seats together in the front row in 19 so bought them up for me and a mate. The mate I went with is black and with the monkey chanting going on I'm glad we were further away from it in the end.

I'm a 35'er! Usually in row 11.

It was disgusting mate, what makes it even worse is the fact they had two or three black players in their own team, I wonder how they actually felt.

I'm not saying I'm an angel at games, I call the opposition players/ ref a c*nt if they've wound me up and I'll happily join in the songs that mug the opposition staff/ players off but racism is just a step too far, especially, like the point with Lazio, there's a 99% chance that there's a player (or players) in their own team that's of the same race to the person they're aiming the abuse at.

I don't really have a regular row, it used to always be whatever the ticketing system gave me but you can be a bit more picky now you can see what seats together are free and who's buying. Yeah, it's not often I hold back either :D A different mate of mine got in an argument with Jaaskalinen a few years back whilst he was in the stands and Jussi was on the pitch, I thought we were going to be on Match of the Day and started hiding my face <laugh>

I was really pleased with the way everyone responded by singing Defoe's name after the chants, one of those moments when your chest swells to be a Tottenham fan.
 
I like the Walker to night school idea...it could be an advantage to understand the other team and not be understood. The main point is, it would keep Bale from playing left back again.
