That's not a bad idea.

Here's a suggestion though. Ultra thin red and white stripes. Imagine the Hummel Saints shirt of 1987-89, but the thin stripes throughout, but keeping the chevrons down the sleeves: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm

As you can see, I don't mind ultra thin stripes. I don't mind ultra thick either, as in the strip from 1980 to 1985.
