i like that dude... Scott...I dont know if you read these forums everyday as you are very selective on what you say i said.. We failed to reach the premiership when it was in the bag under Jenkins,,fact we finally got the backing we needed by MORGAN who overruled jinks...another fact. Prattley has already confirmed that he went to forest with jenkins with the intention of signing for £1 million. Fact this caused uproar and two financial backers walked out of the boardroom threatening to quit Morgan and the board stopped any deal going through...another fact. so scott you dont know what you are talking about and making up stories of what you think i said and what i actually said and everything has been proved true.... i have very good contacts who are ex colleagues of mine and i would not state a fact if its not true...
So at what point was reaching the Premiership 'in the bag'...? [In the bag means it was virtually a certainty]
come on dam you know we was cruising and even the bookies stopped taking bets on us as we were dead certs martinez wanted to boost the squad like all our rivals were doing and we were points in front of them with only the toon ahead of us......promotion was in the bag but true to form skinflint refused and took away our dead cert status to end up being overtaken by blackpool on the final day who went on to win the playoffs.....its in the history books dam...
Just watched the Pool v Fulham first half. All I can say is If we play like we did against Blackburn we are going to be totally thrashed by Fulham.
Are you talking about the first season in the Championship under Martinez? When Swansea finished eighth and only got into the play-off spots once for about 24 hours? Or are you referring to Sousa's season in charge when Newcastle got promoted ? I think you're confused, Dai, better go check the history books. And getting into the play-offs does not mean promotion is in the bag.
you obviously cant remember then dam. the toon led and then wba with us cruising and catching wba who went on a bit of a bad run. we were points ahead of our nearest rivals and were the bookies favorites to go up with the toon....but alas it all went pear shape as everyone strengthened but Muppet jinks refused martinez and the rest is history....i never forget a game..
The season that Swansea were chasing WBA & Newcastle was the season Sousa was in charge, not Martinez - you are 100% wrong in that. Working backwards: 2011/2012 Rodgers - premier league 2010/2011 Rodgers - Championship & promotion http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2010-2011/table 2009/2010 Sousa - Championship (finished 7th losing out to Blackpool) http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2009-2010 2008/2009 Martinez - Championship (finished 8th) http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2008-2009/table 2007/2008 Martinez - Division 1 & promotion http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-one/2007-2008/table Admit it, you are wrong!!
No matter , Fulham & for that matter Blackburn won't be in the relegation battle . We have to stay above any three of Wigan , Wolves , Bolton & Rangers IMO .
sousa was what we were on about, but martinez could have also got us up if he was backed....sorry im never ever wrong.....typed martinez instead of Sousa thats all.....It should have not been a problem as i described the game and both would have got us to the premiership if backed.....
I'm sure you'll forgive the rest of us for THINKING that you were wrong and confused if you repeatedly type 'Martinez' when you actually mean 'Sousa'. We all know you're getting on a bit and the memory is starting to get a bit dodgy, so we'll give you the benefit of the doubt for the moment. Now that we've unravelled which season you're talking about and who was manager at the time I believe that you have created an over-inflated impression of how well we were doing in your head to fuel your anti- Huw Jenkins agenda. I need to do a quick bit of research first and then I'll get back to you. Laters.
Dai, you are then the only person in the world in that position. EVERYBODY is wrong about something in life, however trivial OR important the opinions or insinuations are. This may not mean anything to you, as you are never, ever wrong ............. FACT.
Dai you don't half put yourself in the firing line, and by the way I've lost track of how many times you've got it wrong!............ please log in to view this image Breezy, meant to ask you the other day, how things are over there, with the credit crunch? Let us now, I'm just waiting for the Euro to collapse....................
Things are tight Phillip & I'm stretched to the limit... like most people . But I don't set the bar to high so it effects me less . Sick of the wind though , windy ever day lately , 150 kilometer peak gust the other day (WAH )
Problem is Dai, until you prove that all these statements (what your "facts" are until anyone sees a shred of proof for any of them) are true then it's just your word against everyone else's.
Ok, so you say we were points in front of 'them' with only the toon ahead of us. WRONG. The highest position achieved in that year was 3rd on 20th November 2009 - and that was only for 24 hours. We got to third after beating Derby 1-0 on a Friday night at the Liberty - Bessone scored. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/league-championship/2009-2010/table/2009-11-20 The rest of the season was spent in 4th, 5th or 6th until the last two games when Blackpool overtook us as everyone knows. If you follow that link you can view the table at any given week in the season. So, to summarise: Only the toon ahead of us - WRONG We were dead certs - WRONG Promotion was in the bag - WRONG How can anyone who has followed the Swans for 50 years get it all so WRONG
Well your wise there Breezy, because worse it's going to get, regarding the wind your getting, I live on the coast, and when the tides in, have a beautiful view from my front window, but we too get a lot of windy days living on the sea coast, though I don't mind it!................ please log in to view this image
