Farke thinks Ampadu is our most important player. Appreciate most prefer him as a midfielder but I like him equally as a centre back… certainly prefer him to struijk. We definitely need both a new cb and a new centre mid of PL standard.

Agreed. Keep Ampadu as first choice cb. He’s better there than in midfield, where he’s not creative enough.
Better with him at CB or was it that we had dropped Meslier, maybe a combination of all three
I think he does the DM role pretty well but he's obviously a stopper more than a creator. Gruev does that role,ok, but not I imagine ok enough for the PL. Farke likes to play with full backs who are wingers, an 8 and a 10, so we need someone providing a shield for the back 4.
Everyone seemed to like Rothwell and tanaka as a partnership. It was fine at home when sides made no attempt to play against us, but it gave me kittens away from home.
Personally, like you, i'm happy enough with Amps as a CB, it's great he can cover both positions, but we'll need an enforcer at dm, if he's playing CB.
from memory, i think results are just better when Ampadu plays full stop.
Struijk looks good at this level. I still have nightmares about him last time in the prem. Hopefully, more mature, more confident, he'll be ok. Wishful thinking, he still turns like a supertanker.
I disagree. I think we need to be ruthless and get rid of those players that we don't need, or that have more value than their replacements.
Selling the likes of Gnonto, Ramazazi and Aaronson would get us money to attract the kind of player that would never have come to a Championship team.
Of those you mentioned only Gnonto is likely to get us a decent fee, less of course any sell on clause Orta agreed to when we signed him.
May as well keep him. Has the physicality (apart from being a short arse) to do well in the PL.
I think Ramazani and Aaronson might fetch decent fees as well or possibly used as make weights for transfers from other clubs.
We’re going to take a significant hit on Aaronson for what we paid for him. I think Ramazani looks good but he was a bit part player this year so don’t know how his value would have risen so much above what we paid for him? I could be wrong of course
