yes, tragically true clingo however surely your away strip should be blue and i am not taking the piss when i say this, you should always be bluebirds

Musty. We are no different to supporters of any other club, and being a Bluebird is a state of heart and mind and doesn't depend on the colour of a shirt. The nickname is nothing more than a nickname.

I agree with cracker in as much as we musn't get overly critical toward the fans who are not welcoming of the change, but for me, anything that makes the most of our welshness is OK by me.

I'm 58 next month and I'm with you Pontprennau, those of your age are the future we need to keep getting young supporters and your oppinion counts.

Old git! <laugh>

Absolutely right Rhondda. Our history is safe and can never be taken away. It's time for this club to stop looking longingly into the future and start to start a whole new and exciting era - I think we are doing just that.

some strong opinions on this thread......<ok>

you're entitled to opinion pontprennau whether your 9 or 99, we are all bluebirds (even musty probably) and all want the club to succeed.

each to their own but i'd be very embarassed to walk about in a red cardiff shirt!!!....<ok>

i wouldnt be seen dead in a red shirt, i dont usually buy city shirts but i may buy the away one this year.......<ok>

Kenny grow up whether red or blue I'm city through and through and if sombodeee has a problem with that you can sulk about at home when I'm watching the pride of our great country I front of 20,000 people

I can contently live with people not liking the change and buying the away shirt instead of the home one. Take the positives... He's buying a shirt! (He said he doesn't usually) so happy days! Even not buying a shirt and still turning up is absolutely fine by me.

But trying to disrupt the club? No.

It's all a bit of a sideshow for the press now during th quiet silly season.
Wales on line were trying to stir it by quoting some poll of the Supporters Trust - a poll in which less than 40% could be bothered to reply. Not exactly representative of us is it?
We're going red (at home), we're getting funding, we're paying to get rid of Sam - just live with it guys. Move on for Heaven's sake!

Iggy,

The trust have 688 members (yes I'm one) they came out against the rebrand before any polls yet they could only get 145 memers to vote no, I think questions should be asked as they are not in touch with their members.

Personally, There are 3 reasons why I don't think this "group" will have any impact whatsoever.

A. Its an invitation only Facebook group (apparently to keep out the nutter element) I've ask for a definition of "nutter element" but still waiting for a reply. I can only assume if you don't play by their rules, you can't join. The irony here, especially on my TL, is that anybody who doesn't agree with the 'keep cardiff blue campaign' are the ones getting abuse.

B. For it to have any chance of succeeding, it would need to have a majority of the fan base on board. From figures I've seen, there are approx 350 ppl who have joined, sorry, been invited and compare that to last seasons average attendance of 22,000, its just the naughty kid at the back of the class.

C. I can think for myself and dont need to be told what I should or shouldn't be doing or how and even if I should continue supporting my club.

Yes, they're entitled to their opinion but if they dont want to follow the club anymore, dont go...its simple.
I dont think anybody actually wants to change from the blue but most of the ppl I know can see the long term benefits (obviously no guarantees) of the proposals. All the drama queens and wums with their 'sold your soul' "ripped the heart out of the club" dramatics were amusing but now just boring. I dont wear replica shirts so the whether or not to buy one isn't an issue for me. I'm just looking forward to the new season :)

The world as I see it

This is the most sensible, realistic and level headed article I've seen on the whole issue. Well done H bomb.

i said 'each to their own' - each person is entitled to their own opinions. mine is that i would be embarassed to walk around in a red shirt. if you are happy to do that then i never said that makes you any more or less of a fan than me.

and no i wont sit at home sulking, i'll just turn up in my blue shirt and enjoy the match whatever colour the team plays in.......we're still cardiff city......

cheers clingo...infact if you see him there kick him up the arse and tell him 2 get home

Wise words for one so young! :emoticon-0100-smile

Seriously though Pont, I've got a good few years start on you but feel similar. Due to geography I get to very few games and most of those away, so I'll see them play in blue and won't notice the difference. <sorry>

We all have city in our hearts and follow / support them in our own ways. I only missed 2 games all last season, unfortunately all of them were listened to on the radio.

Wearing a shirt or not, being mambers of the supporters club or not, season ticket holder or not (was for a few seasons many years ago, probably before you were born Pont), doesn't make us any less passionate about our club. It hurts when people mess with tradition, but it would hurt more if we ceased to exist.

Tom looking forward to getting his new Red Shirt, he's 13. I hardly ever buy a shirt, last one i bought was for the ECWC against Baumit Admira Wacker in Vienna 92/93 season, still got it with the South Wales Echo as the sponsor, however my point is this. I asked Tom how many in his school are wanting the new shirt and the reply was, All of them. Onwards and upwards, change is inevitable so lets embrace it together.

you are once again on ignore, your comments are silly and un cardiff, you are the only moron on here, bye bye con fuse

Well explain why has this thread in any connection to do with a sweaty sock who claims to follow swanc?.

You might be once again on a ban son ,you ever thought of that now sit and behave.
