He would be a very divisive figure at the club. Keane is one of my all time favourite player and a true United legend, but lets be clear here, he has never had any real allegiance to the club. This is a man who said at the time of Rooney's infamous contract negotiations 3 years ago, that the ONLY interests that Rooney should consider is his own self-interest. That he owed nothing to the club or the fans and needed to "look after number one". That doesn't make Keane a bad bloke, he's a very "matter of fact" sort of bloke (we also saw that with Ireland) but it also shows a man who has no sense of diplomacy or man management skills. Things are very black and white with him. It's a double edged sword. It can be a strong quality you need in a leader, but it can also cause a lot of disharmony.
