I don't think anyone forgot the question Shergy, I think the reason they mentioned Kauto Star's record was to point out why Ruby would probably choose the horse.

I just feel that MM has been trained with the KG as his main target, and the reason the KG was his main target, is because PN and Clive Smith felt KSs best days were behind him.
In my view MM has been held back, because of KS, and Clive Smith not wanting the pair to meet, which is understandable. MM has been crying out for a step up in trip, and it has taken a decline in KSs form to prompt them to allow MM to take in the races KS was. KS obviously bounced back to form LTO, so they now have to run him aswell.
All I know is that KS was a good 2 miler, and a great 3 miler. MM was a much better 2 miler than KS, so who's to say he can't be a better 3 miler than an 11yo KS. I would be suprised if KS finishes infront of MM.

I have to say Shergy that I think this could be Master Minded's best year. I liked the look of his last win and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him put in a big run over 3 miles.
