5 at the back leaves more options than a flat 442. 3 centre backs, 3 in midfield and 2 up front. It's just that the fullbacks have to be **** hot in terms of getting up the line, crossing and defending. I did think that your formation was very different to say Watfords. They had more of a 3-5-2. Their wingers were like a 442's wingers. Yours were more like attacking fullbacks. Like Jack's said. You scored less than Peterborough so it was negative, but it worked and nobody can argue with that. At the end of the day, its a bit of fun to point and laugh at things like defending negatively or 'hoofball' but if it works then nobody can argue.
Obviously, being in the last year of your contract is a terrible time to discuss a new one. Particularly when you're planning on leaving on a free to get yourself a big signing on fee. Good commitment from the lad.
Brady isn't a defender wherever we play him, he can't defend to save his life, if we stuck him in goal, he wouldn't be a goalkeeper either.
Schlupp is a striker but when he is asked to play left back he is a defender. Same with any footballer If they get put in a left back there a defender
If Kasper leaves at the end of the season like we all predicted he will leave with both the club and the fans best wishes. We all told you would we rather he walked for nothing in 12 months rather then sell him for peanuts
If he signed another contract, with a release clause, I suspect your fans would be rather more impressed.
If we all honest with ourselves we know Kasper is miles too good for this league. He has shown alot of loyalty to still be here now as most of us thought we would have lost him after his first season here. To still be here now the club has done extremely well to keep him. Kasper cant sit in this league too long. Another year wont hurt his career but anymore then that will hold him back As said if he leaves for nothing in 12 months he will still leave with everyones best wishes
Why should he? He's earnt his Premier League move and he will get that at the end of the season. If it looks like we might get promoted in Jan then he'll probably sign a new bumper contract. If not then he will get his big time move and he'll deserve it.
He is staying with us rather then going to you or anywhere else - is great commitment from him. That he hasn't signed a new contract is irrelevant to that - he is honouring the contract that he signed unlike what the vast amounts of footballers do these days.
He isn't asked to play left-back though. Okay, put it this was, Brady was further up the pitch than Meyler/Evans for the vast majority of every game, so if Brady was a defender and they were midfielders, how does that work? Does that make Meyler and Evans both centre-backs in your opinion, or does it just mean you're wrong? Here's a clue, it's not the first one.
That just means he was out of position Ritchie De Laet was bombing forward all the time. Does that mean he wasn't right back then?
OLM can you lend your footballing brain cell to Roseniorsgran before he posts again. The difference between you and him is you appear clever but no **** all. Roseniorsgran just knows **** all
I know it's not 'no'. You do seem to be having some difficulty differentiating between a left back and a left wing back, the roles are very different and require very different abilities. Rosenior was one of our outstanding players the season before last, but when we switched to 3-5-2 he was dropped completely, as he can't play the role of a wing back. Just as, if we switched to a flat back four during a game, Elmo or Brady(or both) were the players sacrificed. What ever you think about Rosie winding you up on here, he certainly knows more about the way Hull City played last season than you do.
You think Elmo and Brady were out of position for almost the entirety of last season? If so, I'm surprised Bruce didn't mention it to them, and we certainly performed well for a team with such poor positioning. There's a difference between bombing forward and your base position, Brady & Elmo were permanently far higher up the pitch than a left or right back, rather than making runs into those positions. I might as well give up now, you obviously can't have seen us play very often last season.
Maybe he will stay and see out his contract and then consider his options next summer when he can please himself. Why rush to a new deal now ?
This is what I've been saying. The only way he can show he is actually loyal is by signing a new contract, otherwise he is just waiting till next summer imo
He is not a Barton or Suarez where we have stuck by him when he has ****ed up so he owes us for that - he signed a 3 year contract and isn't moving after 2 years. If he moves after the contract then so be it - he has kept his end of the deal and will go with our respect*. *depending on who he moves to that is...
Kasper signed a 3 year deal and thats what he intends to honour. Nothing wrong with that and thats shows loyalty and that his word does mean something. As said if he walks away for nothing in 12 months he does so with everyones best wishes
