I think his agility and reflexes make up for his height. He can still reach everything his Dad could.
Peter Schmeichel was relatively unknown at 26 years old so how would you know there not on the same level at this stage of their careers? Kasper has already built a decent reputation. I accept his 2nd name gets him noticed but he has now stepped out of his dads shadow.
You'll get to see how good he is next season when he puts on a Hu... Oh, wait... Did he sign for you? I remember you telling me he was dying to play for the mighty Hull, and begging to move there. Has that move gone through yet?
He put in a transfer request I think Kasper's next move will be to go on strike if we keep standing in the way of his dream move
You don't half come out with some rubbish. Check out the World's Top Goalkeeper list for 1991, he was voted 10th best keeper in the world. Relatively unknown my arse...
I remember putting that he would be interested in joining if a fee could be agreed and I stand by that , had we of been stupid and offered 4 million that article would of been a whole lot different
Yea somehow I wouldn't rate kasper as the 10th best keeper in the world and I can't see him being rated that highly in the future either but other than that, yea on a total par with his dad when peter was his age
I just saw it on his wiki page. http://www.iffhs.de/?388d85ff8b00388f05e9d817285fdcdc3bfcdc0aec70aeedb8a70b
On his Wiki page it says he was voted in the year 2000, in the top ten goalkeepers of the twentieth century. Also, the IFFHS gains its information through game stats. For example, a goalkeeper in better leagues at the time might have been a better player, but kept fewer clean sheets and have worse saves per shot ratios because of the quality of opposition. Thats why goalkeepers from KV Mechelen, FK Crvena zvezda Beograd and Racing Club Avellaneda are in there. All that shows is that Peter kept plenty of clean sheets at Brondby.
His Wiki page says... Following the tournament, Schmeichel was voted 10th in "The World's Best Goalkeeper 1991" poll by the IFFHS. I don't know much about the International Federation of Football History & Statistics, but I do know that suggesting that Peter Schmeichel was 'relatively unknown' at his sons age is nonsense. He signed for one of the worlds biggest football clubs when he was 27.
"The IFFHS ranked Schmeichel among the top ten keepers of the 20th century in 2000". Was all I read. Alas, he might well have been known at the time. But Proud is saying 'relatively unknown'. Meaning that at the time he was signing for 'one of the worlds biggest football clubs' and not much was known of Schmeichel at the time compared to most of Manchester United's other signings. Which is a fair comment. You can't deny that the vast majority of football fans hadn't heard of a 26 year old Goalkeeper playing in Denmark. For the record, he won that IFFHS 'Best goalkeeper' award the following two seasons.
You hadn't even heard of the ****ing award before you stumbled upon it looking for ammunition to argue with Proud
Best not to rise to OLM. Hes getting more desperate looking for arguements. I told you from the start we wouldnt do business and Kasper wouldnt be interested. And shock horror I was right
You were right about nothing, if any Premier League club decides Kasper is worth £2.5-3m, they'll get him, you were happy to flog us him if we threw in Hobbs.
