Yes, that is a sensible point.
Maybe it's the players themselves who have decided that they just don't like this bloke and have decided they are not going to give their best for him. I find it hard to believe that a player who dons his club shirt will give anything other than his best when he gets on the pitch for himself, his team-mates and the fans but there appears to be a serious problem at Middlesbrough which I am sure will come out in the wash very soon.

Yes that's clearly the issue. Karanka has pissed off a lot of them.

I think that was part of my point in post #55 Sydney. I would imagine City kept most of their promotion squad for one of 2 reasons
    a) No one was interested in signing them after promotion (premier league salaries probably promised if promotion gained) . Most were not at that level.
    b) Very few premier league players would feel Hull City was a backwater. Sad to say, but true. It may change if we establish ourselves at the top level. It will however, take a few years.
Big incentive for an "unfashionable" team member in the Championship to bust his ass to gain promotion imo ?
I thought that was what TigerRoo was suggesting was not the situation at Boro ?

As their are 2 Aussies(ex-pats) on this thread at the moment, thought I'd mention I've been listening to Midnight Oil for the last hour or so. Are they still performing and popular over there ?
    Always liked their stuff.

I suppose the question is why has he pissed them off ? Transferring blame for missing out on promotion in advance perhaps ? A sure sign of insecurity on his part. At this stage of the season - well 3 or 4 weeks ago perhaps - can't be the ability of the team !

Sounds like he's fallen out with a lot of the players at one point or another.

Bad news for him. Maybe good news for the team - perhaps they should bring in Dowie to help us out even more :emoticon-0100-smile

    Final thought for the night.

    Charlton 2 - 1 Hull City
    Boro' 3 - 0 Charlton
    Hull City 3 - 0 'Boro'
    Hull City 6 - 0 Charlton
    Charlton 2 - 0 'Boro'
    'Boro: ? - ? Hull City
.....Let it be. I dread to think.

Firstly, Sydney is on my 'ignore' list so I cannot, and nor do I wish to, see his posts.
Regarding Midnight Oil: They were led by a giant of a man called Peter Garrett who had an extraordinary style of expressing himself when performing - look the group up on YouTube performing their classic "Beds are Burning". Peter disbanded the group and became a Member of Parliament where he was jokingly referred to (owing to his performances on stage) as "The Minister for Funny Walks". He is now an Environmentalist Activist. Peter can also be seen on the Yothu Yindi Classic "Treaty" video also on YouTube.

Already posted "Beds are Burning " on this thread TRoo.(See post#53 on this thread ). Love the band. Brilliant song.
Canadian equivalent environmentalist if you don't know him:
    Bruce Cockburn;

About 3:22 to 3:29 into the video is a brief shot of the South American activist who was "allegedly" murdered by big business interests (timber) down there.

Different video of "Beds are Burning" from earlier...first one I saw.

When did I become his manager? And he can't see the post anyway.

They were sold to decent C'ship clubs (at least at the time) so again they were no worse off had we not been promoted.

Nigel Pearson is currently favourite for both the Forest and the Boro jobs (though technically there isn't even a job available at Boro yet).

I can't imagine for one second why any manager with any degree of professionalism and ambition would want a job working for a club with one arm tied behind his back! Farwaz isn't exactly flavour of the month, signs players without the managers knowledge, gets his club under a transfer embargo for the last two windows due to his own mismanagement, then wonders why his manager doesn't succeed? I can't see Pearson touching The Florists with a barge pole.

There's some interesting odds on new managerial appointments, some are ridiculously short, Mourinho 1/4 for the Man United job and Antonio Conte 1/12 to be next Chelsea manager, Joachim Loew is 8/1 to start next season as Arsenal manager.

Brendan Rodgers 4/1 to be next England manager.

Pearson 4/1 for the Forest job and Gary Rowett 3/1 to start next season as Derby manager.
