Colin's comments from the press conference just now: - We’ve lost Kadeem for a while, he has to have an operation on Monday, so we could be without him two or three months I’d imagine which is a blow to us. We are without Connolly injured, with Patterson and Camp, so we have two or three out missing for a while. So we have to be a bit lucky with injuries now. His ankle, he did it a few weeks ago so he’ll have an operation because the surgeon thinks it could go again even after rehab so it has to be tightened up a bit. It’s disappointing because he was flying but that’s life, you have to get on with it.
That's a blow for Kadeem before the start of the season, but better sort it now once and for all and come back stronger rather than cause any further damage. Can't see a huge problem even if Warnock wanted to play with two wide men. Hoilett, Mendez, Kennedy and Pilks offer a fair choice, and if you add in Ward who can play wide as well as striker, we should be well covered whilst Kadeem is out. Nothing to do with Kadeem's problem, but I still want to see a quality midfield "general" brought in unless Warnock thinks Damour can become that option.
Back in light training. Should be available earlier than expected. October/November time. I know everyone loves him but I'm still not convinced he has what is needed to succeed in the Championship. Happy to be proven wrong.
He seems to have a bit of the poacher about him but not sure how he fits in. Previous formations don't seem to have got the best from him, but Warnock may have the answer......
IMO these players now are just accidents waiting to happen. They are ridiculously muscular and hypa fit. Kadeem looks like one of those body builders; his legs are like tree trunks. Phil Dwyer and Don Murray hardly ever got injured. And they didn't shirk. It's not only football but egg chasing, cricket and athletics. Zahore is one game away from a long lay off simply because he's too fit.
