Is kaboul injured? Reason I ask is I am thinking of putting him in my fantasy team but notice he hasn't played preseason? Is he expected back? Will Dawson be your only centre back?

Thanks in advance

Any idea if kaboul is penciled in for the palace game?

I'm not ITK, but I'd say there's no chance. He hasn't played a competitive game for nearly a year now. Some Spurs fans have him in their 'first XI', which puzzles me mightily. He may be back in September, he may not, he may never be the player he was. I don't know, they don't know, but still some put him in their 'first XI'. I wish Kab all the best and fervently hope he recovers fully. BUT Martin Tyler on Sky said he had an injury similar to Hargreaves, now I have no knowledge on that other than to believe him. We know what happened to Hargreaves. Doesn't mean it will happen to Kab of course.

It's said that Kaboul has the same injury that ended Ledley's career,i have my doubt's that we will ever see him in1st team action again

One of our posters Spurcat, who has good inside knowledge at the club told us that we'd be lucky to see Kaboul play against Swansea (2nd match of the season) so I'd say you can definitely rule out any chance of a Palace appearance.

Dawson is injured too but the sounds coming out are that he should be ok for Palace.

Just need someone to play alongside him now! Adam Suter says their should be an update on the Romanian Centre half today? Otherwise Fryers or Livermore - perhaps if one is alongside an experienced player like Daws, they could do a job?

I said the other day that Walker has played CB a couple times, though another poster made a valid point at how shocking his defending has been recently so would we really want to risk that?

I think I'd prefer Hudd over Jake and Fryers. He's played makeshift CB before and not done too badly, plus he'd be a good player to get the ball out from the back.

Good point, forgot about Hudd. Walker against pace, Hudd against a bigger CF.

I'm sure they would not have sold Caulker if there was a chance that Kaboul would not play again. I also wonder that if Kaboul hadn't been playing at the same club where Ledley played and had that injury, they would have called it "the same injury". That again sounds like lazy journalism and I suspect, like just about everything else we are hearing these days, is not a quote attributed to a qualified person working with Spurs. He may have the same injury as Ledley, he may have the same injury as Hargreaves, he may have his own type of injury (did they have the same injury?) I doubt anyone who claims to know really does, or have the medical background to make such an assessment.

That was me. Walker at CB just sounds like suicide to me. I'm hoping Walker returns to his 11/12 defending rather than 12/13 defending though.
I thought Fryers was a left back? Is he also decent at CB or was monaco more a case of "right, who can run? You're playing CB today"?

I also heard that Lennon had the same thing, but they caught it early and therefore it is manageable. Could be total bs as you say

On the last couple football managers he could play both perfectly fine. While football manager isn't real he would have had to have played a fair few times at CB for them to include it as one of his primary positions.

Cheers mate that's a fair shout I might go for Dawson for now can always change it if kaboul does get back to fitness.

Thanks to all the people who replied

Hi SOS, where did you get that info from - All the sounds I'm 'hearing' (ie forum ITK) are that he's out for a while and won't make the Palace game.

I also bet now that Kab doesn't play against Swansea or if he does he won't be anywhere near fully fit and it'll be a desperation measure that goes wrong.

I doubt if they can do a decent job. I also doubt that Dawson will play against Palace, but I await 'definite ITK' on that one, but the 'sounds' aren't promising.
