Well if they get Cazorla like word of mouth has mentioned they could possibly have Podolski----Giroud----Cazorla ****ing good enough if you ask me.
Just if you search around, apparently 20 mil Euros or something like that. Malaga were supposed to have all of this money but might be bumped from CL if they don't pay up their players and debts!
Its just a shame how quickly people forgot the 14 steps forward we took in Kennys first twelve months eh. And do the same rules not apply to BR? A bad run of games and you're out the door mate...unacceptable, awful to watch etc etc. The irony is that the people who were willing to be patient with Kenny despite the mistakes and poor run of form will be the same people urging patience with BR when he has a rocky patch. And the people baying for Kennys head are the very same who will do exactly the same with BR ...and the next fella...and the one after that. I guess some people support LFC for different reasons than when I grew up so maybe I've just lost touch with what it means to be a Red these days.
I completely understand where you are coming from, and I certainly wasn't calling for Kenny's head but could 100% understand why he was let go. Not sure how old you are but how often in your LFC supporting days were we getting 17 points from a possible 57? I mean we were breaking records for all the wrong reasons last year (dating back 50 odd years), & it was embarrassing
John Henry did say that Kenny knew prior that he was only temporary until the right person was found. If that is true, I have no problem with this. Plus, everyone saying that John Henry has no idea about football, it does seem, at least to me, that he is learning. I believe Rodgers will have plenty of time, which is what he needs.
Great point We haven't been this far behind the leader since pre-Shankly days. Something had to be done. Me personally, I would have given Kenny another season but I understand the logic behind his sacking. With Kenny and Roy, I never had the faith that they could change things for the long run. I have the same faith in Rodgers as I did with Rafa because I believe that hewill be here for the long run and can create something special. I am willing to give BR time because I believe in him. Just as a I did with Rafa and he came close. I never saw Roy or Kenny as the long term choices so I didn't really believe that they could do a job - I wanted them to succeed but I didn't have that faith so patience was never afforded.
His first six months we had the 'new manager buzz' and Kenny was tactically spot on. Last season there was little in the way of tactics. Kenny seemed inept, the players clueless. Team selection was poor, rotation poor, subs poor. Rodgers hopefully won't be like that.
Short term records like that mean little to me mate in all honesty. What I did know was that yes last seasons second half was painful but we were still in a far better position than under woy a little over a year before and more importantly than that (for me at least) there was a fella in the dugout who I loved, respected and admired. I've been a Red since birth so let's say a tad over 30 years () and no I can't remember many worse spells but I can remember plenty worse teams who just didn't have such a ****ty run of luck. Of course Kenny made bad decisions but all managers do and you can be certain BR will too but are we going to hang him out to dry for them as well or do we give him time to make them right? As hard as the back end of the season was...we support our man through the wind and the rain right? Or are we only fans now who support as long as we have golden skies?
As glad as I am for Suarez just killing it this summer, I really wish he was with us and getting to know the team better. I know he knows most but this will be the second year running we won't have him until pretty much the season starts.
Footballs all about sentiment and emotion and passion to me though. Its about a feeling of belonging...I always had that with Kenny. Its not about clouding my judgement but I will never accept an LFC with no soul and lots of trophies is better than vice versa. That's just the way I am and of course I love it when we win (I am usually on a high until the next game) and I hate it when we lose (I'm a proper poor loser...if I had a cat I'd volley it etc) but watching Kenny jumping round when we won (especially at Wembley) was the ultimate. Fair enough to criticise his tactics or transfers as that's what we do but to be "ok" with his sacking (especially after having just dragged us out of **** creek in a miraculously short space of time "new manager" syndrome or not) just doesn't compute with the way I was brought up. Kenny is one of only a handful of men in the clubs history who deserved our undying support and unquestioning loyalty and frankly we didn't give it to him. For that we should take a lot closer look at ourselves and why we are fans instead of pointing fingers at a true great like Dalglish and saying how "disappointed and embarassed" we are.
