We all know what happened the last time we signed a top scorer from a second division European club...
He scored a goal in the draw which saw us claim 2nd place in the league? Yes? No? Or you mean the bit about him hardly getting a game and being a bit of a disappointment?
That he did, and I am very happy for him as I was desperate for him to succeed. However, if we had a decent forward we would not have been in that position on the last day. Not forgetting the poor penalty which could have sealed our fate.
Do we actually need a left back? I actually love looking at the pages on Skybet where it gives the odds of certain players going to clubs - and at the moment we are on the lists for 2 players - Phil Neville (we are favourite to sign him) and Darren Bent.
I honestly can't believe you are using a computer game to pick our signings............... I hope to god Bruce isn't using that method!
Absolutely shocking unfortunately. Admittedly i am now in 2022, however he never left Israel and barely played for his country.
Yeah they've used it since 2008 i think. Over 1000 scouts worldwide compile reports on players for the game each year. It's definitely a handy source of info, you have to use a bit of common sense when looking at it but it's usually pretty accurate.
Correct. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/everton-sign-deal-to-scout-for-worlds-997789 (Daily Record by the way is a Scottish paper, not just some random website)
I was actually pulling your tits when I made that suggestion, as a thinly veiled swipe at those who claim to be experts for playing such games. It worked brilliantly. Trololol.
To be fair, it's pretty amazing how often young unheard of players who are amazing on that game then turn out to be amazing in real life. Saying that Lee Philpott was brilliant on early versions...
I remember on the earlier games that Craig Lindfield, Jamie Day, Victor Moses and Cisco Sandaza were all top class. Mind you that was in 2005. I think Lindfield just got released by Accrington Stanley in real life.
12 Football clubs have a license to use FM as a scouting tool. To be fair though i think most football league clubs use a tool online that has videos of every single player in England as their main tool for scouting. Costs about £4000 a year but a lot cheaper than wages for a scout. Will try finding the link for you all.
