He did exactly the same thing in the Championship and it worked a treat, his tackling looked brilliant. No one in the Championship ever beat him one-on-one but it's a bit harder in the PL with nippy buggers like Hazard. He'll learn.
I thought Bruce had a good game again yesterday. Elmos crossing seems a lot better again now. I do like the way some of our championship players have made a step up to this level so well. I like how Boyd just tries to get flying legs and body parts in the way of balls going somewhere near him. He intercepted a few against Chelsea where other players would let the ball go past them. Overall as i say i am quietly pleased how the players have made that step up. Sometimes they will have off days and make mistakes, but isn't that how we learn. Terry made a right howler so it isn't just our players who step up who make the mistakes. Shame Sagbo couldn't punish him for the mistake.
However, Chester does basically have to play RB, which he's never been any good at, because Elmo is incapable of defending. A new wing back would be very high on my list of priorities in the summer should we survive!
If Chester was ill, then Faye maybe could have replaced him. But looking good vs Boro is easier than vs players of Chelsea calibre Bruce was fine but as soon as you're past him he doesn't have the pace Chester will learn, it's a hard learning curve but he's intelligent and has some skill too
