Who would you prefer

Clement would seem the obvious choice, but as I said on the 'JFH Sacked' thread he's not quite the messiah we all think he is. He started slowly with four draws and a defeat before finally securing a victory against Preston mid September. His final league stats before getting sacked were ... W 13 D 12 L 6
This works out at 1.7 points per game and maintaining this form would see them reap 78 points and finish 5th, which rather strangely they did.

There were concerns about his management style just before his sacking with his negative tactics, sporadic team selections because he never knew what his best team was. Ring any bells?

If we do manage to get him to leave a cushy little number in Munich for Loftus Road and Harlington I'd be surprised. I'd be even more surprised if he got us as high as 5th. He spent £25m on players at Derby which is nowhere near what he'll get to spend with us, plus they had a far better squad than what we have now.

Having said that he still remains the best option on the list. Zola would be my second choice.

Can we try and get Eddie Jones to swap sporting disciplines and be our manager?

I saw that post and it made me uneasy. But I'd take his win ratio at Derby, the fact that he has worked with some of the biggest prima donnas in the game at Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG etc and survived, his connection to QPR and hope he has learned from his experience at Derby and by being around Ancelotti for years - a great coach and a thoroughly nice man.

Zola would be a lot of fun though.

Pretty clear message being sent from this poll. If they can't get Clement let's hope they avoid some of the others on the list. I deliberately didn't put Warnock on the list to prevent the wrong idea being given.

I voted for Allardyce. Looks the most experienced and most able to get us collecting points again if they also give him money for new players January. But Allardyce, Colin, Bruce, Pellegrio and Clement maybe all hard to get now due new jobs and/or pay. Clement is a big gamble anyway with his record at Derby and lack of Managerial experience. Would prefer Jimmy back to anyone else on that list.
 
My head hurts, there's pros and cons with Clement as Nines has listed. If you're going for someone who knows how to get results Big Sam is your man but don't expect the 'beautiful game'. Inter are in for Zola so I don't think we're even in the running there and if my memory is right Zola only had a modicum of success here by spending a lot of money.

Of the others Karl Robinson will stick to his footballing principles and knows the Championship and League One players that would fit in well, if TF is sticking to developing talent then Robinson ticks all the boxes but I feel TF's impatience gets the better of him too regularly and we may be looking for another 'quick fix'. Sadly, as a result, we're all gonna continue suffering...

According to the London Evening Standard, QPR are expected to appoint Tim Sherwood as their new manager – and it would involve a promotion for Chris Ramsey.

The R's chose to sack manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Saturday evening, just moments after drawing 1-1 away at Nottingham Forest, with just two wins in the last ten games for Hasselbaink.

Now, QPR – who sit 17th in the Championship table – exactly six points off the relegation zone and six points off the play-offs, with Tony Fernandes clearly feeling that a change of direction was needed.

Hasselbaink hasn't even been gone 48 hours yet, but QPR are allegedly closing in on his replacement, as the London Evening Standard claim that Tim Sherwood could be appointed by Tuesday evening.

Sherwood, 47, has been out of work since losing his job as Aston Villa manager back in October 2015, but he could be handed a route back into management by QPR director of football Les Ferdinand, who worked alongside him at Tottenham.

It's claimed that Ferdinand has held talks with Sherwood about taking the job, and is now confident that the ex-Spurs boss will accept the chance to replace Hasselbaink at Loftus Road.

Intriguingly, former QPR manager Chris Ramsey – who has been in charge of youth development at Loftus Road – is allegedly in line to become Sherwood's assistant having also worked him with at Spurs.

I hope today they pull a trump card and totally surprise us with a wicked foreign manager signing that we didn't see coming. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Other clubs have pulled many surprises with their appointments
Pinocchio at Saints then onto Spurs looks brilliant but it means the old guard at Spurs who were useless need jobs ... where would they end up? Oh us

It would be great to just go for Ainsworth but they aren't looking at soul

Best is Clement purely based on association but the English disease cuts in as he failed at Derby and all are worried because of the wild link he will be no good

It will be tough for anyone to use our current squad imo

I voted for Nigel Pearson not just because this squad need their arses kicked and pointed in the direction of the opposition goal, but also because of his record with Leicester. He got them promoted and kept them up the next season, which to me is what it's all about.

Those who say they'd prefer someone who encourages pretty football at the expense of points are self deluding, after a period of time they too would be baying for the new manager's blood if the points weren't stacking up. It's a rough world out there.

Beginning to look like Ted might get his wish. Holloway is best-priced 7/4 now, with Clement out to 6/1.

I think he's a good enough results man - but he doesn't seem the full shilling.

As someone said earlier, given 95% of that list I'd prefer to have kept JFH.
 
Clement for me. Logically, he has a good pedigree as a coach and did well at Derby as a manager. Emotionally, I well remember his dad playing for us. Pearson would be my back up: experienced, successful and a motivator but possibly not very pleasant!
