I've heard 'Arry was way off in his estimate of Ba's release clause. It's apparently closer to £15 mil than to £7 mil

 

Yeah surely if Spurs are interested that will be his first choice, just can't see him at QPR dont think he'd be able to wrestle a starting place off Zamora

 

Would be about Simpson's level, and I'd pack his bags for him.

As far as Ba is concerned I really can't see it, I think if he were to leave it would be for a champions league team, why leave to play at relegation fodder with the likes of Barton and Cisse?

 

Isn't Simpson meant to be going to Fulham.

Newcastle are waiting to resolve their current issues with Danny Simpson before pursuing their interest in Mathieu Debuchy.

The Magpies haven't given up hope they can persuade the former Manchester United defender to sign a new contract and could hold more talks with the 25-year-old after he returned from his holiday in Dubai.

Having rejected their last contract Newcastle are also open to offers but would seemingly rather keep a player who has become a mainstay of their defence.

Should Simpson leave then Alan Pardew is thought to be very keen on bringing in Debuchy from Lille, sending a scout to watch him in action for France against Iceland on Sunday.

Debuachy admitted on Tuesday he would be very interested in a move to a Premier League and could be persuade to move to Tyneside due to the club's strong French connection.

"I would like to go abroad next season," Debuchy confirmed in a press conference.

"I like other leagues, but I really like the English style. However I don't know much more, I didn't talk with my club so far."

 

What annoys me is that nobody can seem to see that Simpson isn't good enough, so if Simpson signs a new deal we won't bring in the top class international right back, who wants to come here, We'll plod along with the one we have who consistently backs off, out of position and cant play the ball out of defence without punting the ****er.

We should be in for a player like Debuchy regardless of whether Simpson signs or not.

Wow, at least he has one good attribute then, lets sign him up for another ten years at 100k a week.

There are some things that don't get recorded in stats, like how many times hes been done, easily by wingers, how many goals have came from him backing off and letting players get into advances positions, how many promising counter attacks have been ruined by his inabilty to pick a pass to going forward and his punts straight back to the opposition.

Some days he can do a job, but we can do a LOT better and I'd hope that we would.
