I looked at the BBC predicter for this weekend and I think we will go into Mondays game in 13th place.

If we lose we drop 1 to 14th

If we draw we stay 13th

But if we can win we climb to 8th.

Now I know what people mean when they say its still early, the table means nothing, but bollocks, I dont agree.

Thats only true if you sit near the bottom and are looking for some comfort. The higher up the table the better we feel, the better the players feel and the more confident we are.

The higher up the table the more other teams fear us.

The higher up table the more attractive we are to that big January signing.

Syd - last weeks win came as a welcome relief to everyone at the club, us as fans and I am sure the players but most of all the manager.

We go into Mondays games buoyed by the fact we can at last score goals and have found a midfield that looks like it belongs to a good EPL club.

I fancy Bendtner to get on the end of something on Monday and open his account and will be having a sly £5 on it as well. If O Shea, Brown and Bramble are fit, then the back 4 will be too strong for the canaries imo. Even Richardson should be able to cope at left back with Larsson covering as he did last Sunday. Vaughan and Gardener in the centre and Sess as a midfielder come striker (still dont think this is the best we can offer but the manager likes it so we can do sod all about it) and I think we will be too strong.

To me the table means everything from day one game one, okay it takes about 9 or so games to settle down but I'd rather we were in the top half when that time comes and not the bottom half.

You only have to look at the scum to see what a good start can mean to a team. They are one of the most average to poor craa teams for a long while (they are worse than the team that were relegated by a country mile) but a decent start, albeit with a huge amount of luck thrown in and they are into the next round of the Cup AND are top 4 or 5 in the league.

If you can get the ball rolling you can battle through being a **** team. Our problem was that by finishing 10th (whether it was through luck or not) our expectation was that we could build on that. We didn't. Our start was hapless, a bad derby defeat and we were knocked out of the cup as well inside the first 2 weeks of the campaign. Thus, they have struggled to get any kind of momentum and the manager has quite rightly has become the talking point.

One win hasn't changed my overall feeling about Bruce but if we are top 10 comfortably by the turn of the year, I may well be persuaded to change my opinion. As it stands, the jury is well out for me still and lets see how he manages to juggle this new midfield now (found through accident not good management) when all his gut instincts will telling him to get Catts back into it asap.

That's officially the biggest load of ****ing crap I've ever read on Not606. Congratulations. The team we have now is multiple times better than the relegation starting 11. I wasn't aware that your knowledge of football was that woeful, but it seems so.

Anyway, I'd agree with Syd. Table positions can influence confidence this early on imo. Once a team starts struggling the pressure mounts. Just look at Arsenal.
