My mother worked for Browns I think from late '60 and '70's. She went to the School in the office behind the Windham Club in Porth. If I remember correctly she was manager in Penygraig then Tylorstown and ended up in Ynyshir. I went to the school at Cardiff North and worked as a relief manager different shop nearly every day. To say I hated it would be an understatement. Strange because my mother loved it. Take care Will, let's see you fighting fit.
There was a football team called Jack Brown Sports who played Rhondda league in the 80s and 90s. Good bunch of lads based in the Cardiff Arms in Treorchy.

Looks like the bookies are thinking more of our chances than the TV pundits. I know whose opinion I'd be taking note of.

I would cash out on the £162 they are offering you 11/2 on your original bet, or hang it out until after the Bristol match and you may get another £20 or so.
Thanks isaw - they're actually offering 9/2 on the original bet not 11/2 because the cash out value include my original stake money. Still, it's a decent payout offer nevertheless, but I've gone this far so I think I'll hang in there for a while.
It's nice to know we can't get caught this weekend, If we are more than 2 points ahead on Monday those values should go up big time.
Update this morning after the weekend games - just a slight improvement in 2 of them..................... City to finish top as league Champions........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today ^ £24.00 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today ^ £75.00 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today > £162.00 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £4.96
Looking at the autos cash out I assume the bookies have us 50-50 to go up by that route. I'd have bitten your hand off for evens at the start of the season.
Update this morning after the weekend games - Champions cashout up but surprisingly to me cashouts are slightly down on top 2 and promo bets.... City to finish top as league Champions........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today ^ £30.00 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today > £71.43 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today > £156.32 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £2.54
A bit strange that Sparks, with everybody talking up Fulham that could unsettle them. The way I see it is that Wolves are not on the best form (15pts in the last 10 games), will they get back to their best or bottle it. Cardiff are in the form of their life but have 6 away games in the last 10 and an injury list longer that Masky's ding a ling (so we are let to believe) Villa improved out of sight since they played us early on. A big win v Wolves I would not bet against them Fulham the big threat, best football team in the league but can have the odd bad day. Derby a bit hot and cold, could beat anyone on their day. Middlesbrough Pulis has improved their defence and that could be the thing that get them to the play-offs My Prediction 1 Cardiff 2 Fulham 3 Villa 4 Wolves 5 Derby 6 Middlesbrough Villa to win the Play offs
I quite like that prediction Dai. On the basis of that I don't think I'll take the cashouts so I can blame you......
Update this morning after the Brentford game last night. "Champions" cashout stays the same but the "top 2" and "promo " cashouts have moved up. City to finish top as league Champions........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today > £30.00 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today ^ £100.00 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today ^ £192.86 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £2.54
