The cashouts after yesterday's games haven't come up yet (I'll stick them up later) but I've just noticed something interesting whilst scanning the site. Wolves are currently 1/6 to finish as Champions and we are out at 7/1 for the same. Now I know Wolves are everyone's favourite for the Championship title but do you think it's that cut and dried? I'm sorely tempted!!
After yesterday's results.......... City to finish top 2 and go up by autos...... £10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today ^ £60.00 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today ^ £128.58 City just to finish in top 6..............................£30 @ 3/1 - potential return £120 - cash out today ^ £96.43 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £23.12 Strange why Newport's cash out didn't go up after yesterday's excellent win away at Cambridge.
Something strange going on. Just looked at the cash out situation this morning before our Bolton game and most have been revised upwards - why??? City to finish top 2 and go up by autos...... £10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today > £60.00 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today ^ £141.43 City just to finish in top 6..............................£30 @ 3/1 - potential return £120 - cash out today ^ £100.00 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today ^ £29.72 As promised earlier I'm cashing out the "top 6" bet and taking the £100 now it's got there. To offset that, I'm going to replace it with a £30 bet @ 7/1 on us finishing as Champions - we're second favourites and I think that's very decent odds. I still can't believe that Wolves are 1/6 to finish top at this stage - they could easily implode and that's very short odds with more than half the season to go. I'll update everything when they come back up after today's games.
A man of your word. I'd expect nothing else. That new bet isn't a bad shout. Warnock looking at a new contract, injured players coming back, the prospect of a new signing or two. The feel good factor will give everyone a boost. I'll be impressed if Wolves have a blip free Christmas. It'll be a real test of their credentials. I wonder how much Wednesday took out of the Robins legs as well. A big week ahead. Mustn't slip on today's banana skin.
Update this morning after Bolton fiasco.....................good job I took that "top 6" £100 on offer before the game. City to finish as Champions (new bet).........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today > £21.82 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today > £50.00 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today > £120.00 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £29.72
Sorry I never replied to this Sparky but I got waylaid in the pub and lost two days of my life due to the evils of alcohol..... Anyway, I couldn't get a bet on Tomlin as Skybet and Betway don't do players to score during matches so I put a tenner on City to win to nil instead
You win some and you lose some Turk - as long as it's only a bit of fun. Good job you didn't bet on Tomlin scoring anyway. I hit the buffers with my multiple efforts on that Bolton game .......but it'll come good again - let's hope it's tomorrow against Fulham.
Update after the Fulham debacle..............sinking fast. City to finish top as league Champions........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today > £16.00 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today > £37.50 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today > £93.92 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £26.00
I like your optimism remote, but It's plumetting after that pile of ****e last night..... City to finish top as league Champions........£30 @ 7/1 - potential return £240 - cash out today > £9.24 City to finish top 2 and go up by autos........£10 @ 14/1 - potential return £150 - cash out today > £23.08 City to get promotion by any route..............£30 @ 8/1 - potential return £270 - cash out today >£77.15 Newport to finish in top 7 (playoffs).............£8 @ 12/1 - potential return £104 - cash out today > £26.00
With the cash out doing a nose dive, what's the prices now compared with the prices you took ? Worth a few extra bob or not ?
Dai - here's the current B365 odds on City's finish for the end of the season after last night's game - just click the link. https://screenshots.firefoxusercontent.com/images/f625ec0c-12a8-4a76-b067-0ac40eb3c950.png
They've tightened up since I took them before a ball was kicked, except for Champions which was 25/1 at the time and I didn't bother with that. That's moved out now to 28/1 after the last 3 games and I took that on @7/1 just before. Still the shortened odds means the bookies think we have a better chance of promotion now than the start of the season so I'll take that. Anyone think we can catch Wolves over the next 21 games and it's worth a punt at 28/1?
